Through the majestic canyons and sandy tracks, competitors were faced with the challenge of navigating criss-crossing tracks and trying not to get confused. Finally, as the rains got heavier, the Stage was shortened to 234-miles.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6213\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DakarRally2023Stage3_DainielSanders-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\n2020 Champion Ricky Brabec had a bad crash and was airlifted to a local hospital. Brabec is complaining of neck pain. Meantime, Australian Red Bull GasGas factory rider Daniel Sanders claimed the Stage 3 win with Skyler Howes taking second. Sanders leads the points rankings.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6214\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DakarRally2023Stage3_GuerlainChicherit-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn the car class, Guerlain Chicherit came away with the stage win. Several drivers spent the day digging out after getting stuck in the sand. Of course, the torrential rains didn\u2019t help anyone. Hank Lategan finished second for Toyota Gazoo Racing.
