After a year off, King of the Motos was back. A record 175 riders entered the two-day event. Riders were challenged by giant boulders and jagged rock sections on the toughest 40-mile course in the desert.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6452\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/2023KingOfTheMotos-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nThe event began Saturday morning with a single lap Prologue event that determined starting positions for the first race. Will Riordan earned himself the pole position. Saturday afternoon the race started with a gnarly land rush start straight up a rocky hillside. It was chaos as riders got stuck attempting to find their way through the section. Trystan Hart led the pace, quickly separating from the field. Hart kept a three-minute lead over Cody Webb. Both have won King of the Motos. Webb has won five times. Hart took the victory in 2021.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6453\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/2023KingoftheMotos_TrystanHartWin-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn the second race on Sunday, riders had to complete two laps, starting at the bottom of Chocolate Thunder. Colton Haaker led the first of the racers through keeping ahead of the carnage behind him. By the first checkpoint, both Trystan Hart and Cody Webb were back out front with a big lead. Webb stayed consistently behind Hart until a GPS error led Webb off-course where he lost valuable time.
