This year, Best in the Desert held their opening round with the Toyo Tires Desert Challenge after the last-minute cancellation of the Parker 425. The move helped boost entries for the popular Hammers desert event.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nRacing kicked off in the morning with the limited classes. The Class 10 of Chase Warren was the top qualifier in a 1-lap prologue held a day earlier. Warren would be chased down by Ezra Ebberts who took the lead and the victory in the class as well as the overall win across all classes. One-hundred twenty-eight cars started the race.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe afternoon was all about the unlimited horsepower trucks and buggies. Kyle Jergensen was the top qualifier and was first to head out into the desert. Adam Householder stayed consistent picking off trucks on the course and soon found himself in the lead.
