Jason Scherer who qualified second, held the lead for the entire 3-lap race. Gomez qualified fourth and kept Scherer in his sights. It was the last lap just miles from the finish that Gomez knew he had Scherer beat on corrected time.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6575\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/2023KOH_RaceofKings_GomezFront-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\n\u201cI am super excited; my team did a lot of hard work. We came out here and did our homework and re-did our homework,\u201d said Gomez after celebrating on stage.
