Both Jett Lawrence and Jason Anderson received unspecified fines by the AMA, sanctioning body for Supercross. The two riders made contact as they were battling for fourth with five minutes on the clock at the San Diego Supercross race. Anderson then brake checked Lawrence in a turn. Lawrence then waited for Anderson at the end of the race and had words with him then smacked his helmet. Anderson retaliated and smacked Lawrence back.
The post-race altercation was caught on video and widely circulated on social media. Lawrence and his Honda race team issued a public apology for the incident. Anderson also took to social media expressing his displeasure with the way Lawrence handled the incident.
