Christopher Polvoorde was back on the podium in the Unlimited Desert Challenge. Polvoorde was the polesitter for the race after securing the top qualifying spot a day earlier in the Prologue event. Polvoorde was driving a brand-new Mason Motorsports all-wheel drive truck. He and his team put countless hours of testing into the race program. Despite getting a flat tire, Polvoorde finished just ahead of the Herbst team.

“It feels good. It was a super fun race, and we just cruised. I made a mistake early on and got myself a flat, but I just put my head down,” said Polvoorde. “I have to give a huge shoutout to my pit crew. They are really the ones who got me this win. They got us in and out faster than Tim Herbst, so really, they are the ones that should be up here celebrating. They pulled me out of a bad situation. I am super happy, and tonight we celebrate.”

In the Spec truck classs, Cade Garcia received a penalty that dropped him down to second, opening the door for Kyle Jergensen to win. In the Limited race which started earlier in the day, Brock Heger, who also qualified on the pole came away with the win going wire-to-wire in the 2-lap race.

Blake Wilkey was once again “King of the Bugs” after getting an early lead. The Volkswagen powered bugs started with a land rush start and soon, Wilkey found himself picking off competitors one-by-one for the win.
