Ford Performance has signed Mitch Guthrie Jr to race at Dakar in the T1 class. Guthrie for the first time in his racing career will pilot the Ford Raptor T1+. Guthrie Jr’s teammate will be none other than Carlos Sainz who has been racing in the class for the last few years. Guthrie Jr has raced at Dakar for the last 5 years, racing in the SXS class.
Kellon Walch has been tapped to co-drive for Guthrie Jr. The pair has secured 8 stage wins together. Guthrie Jr has so far had a storied career with titles at the Mint 400, Baja 1000, King of the Hammers and countless other stateside races.
