Luke McMillin Wins SCORE Baja 1000

The team of Luke McMillin and Rob MacCachren have won another SCORE Baja 1000. This is McMillin’s fourth Baja 1000 win in the last five years. The duo dominated the 864.13-mile course in their all-wheel drive Trophy Truck with a blazing time of 15 hours, 4 minutes and 38 seconds. Original estimates were the fastest finishers would be back to Ensenada in just over 15 hours.

“It went great. Not a single flat tire. We just kept moving and moving. Rob brought it to me in the lead, flawless, like you would expect Rob Mac to do, and we never looked back. I knew Toby was back there and would be coming so we hit the dirt running and put a few minutes on him.”

The team of Bryce Menzies and Christopher Polvoorde were the top qualifiers for the event. Power steering issues would put them down significantly on race day erasing any opportunity for a repeat Menzies Baja win.

Over in the 2-wheeled class, the Slam Life racing team of Justin Morgan, Tyler Lynn and Brandon Prieto had things figured out in Baja securing another win and dominating the class. Morgan now has seven overall Baja 1000 wins.

Other wins went to Thor Herbst in the spec truck, Brock Heger in the overall UTV class and Gustavo Vildolsola in the SCORE Trophy Truck Legends class.
