Cooper Webb won Saturday night’s Supercross race in Detroit. The win ties Webb and Chase Sexton in the season point standings. When the gate dropped in the race, Ken Roczen jumped to an early lead. Sexton wasn’t so lucky. He got stuck in the starting gate, then crashed on the opening lap. Meantime, up front Webb made several attempts to pass Roczen and was finally successful in the final minutes of the race. Sexton was able to finish third and will hold onto to the red plate despite his tie with Webb.

The 250 class saw plenty of excitement. Max Anstie had the lead and was running a nice comfortable gap. Late in the race a red flag came out. Per AMA rules, since more than three laps were completed, the riders were lined up for a staggered start when the race resumed. Levi Kitchen shot to the lead with just two laps to go. Kitchen held on for the win and Anstie stayed in second, unable to pass Kitchen. RJ Hampshire rounded out the podium in third. Anstie is leading the 250 East standings.
