John Harrah has passed away at age 59 from a heart attack. Harrah was the former owner of the Superlite Series, a short course spec truck class that raced in the early years of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series. Additionally, Harrah’s team fielded Pro-Lite, Pro-2 and Pro-4 trucks. Harrah was also involved in desert racing racing several Class 1 cars.

Harrah’s dad, Bill Harrah founded the Harrah’s Casino brand. Harrah wanted nothing to do with the casino business and sought adventure instead. His love and passion for racing was apparent to those who knew him. He touched many lives and gave several opportunities to race or work on his team. His vision for the Superlite Series was to create an equal playing field for all to race.
John Harrah is survived by his brother and four children along with a granddaughter.
