Ken Roczen Dominates SuperMotocross Season Opener in Buenos Aires

Ken Roczen kicked off the 2025 SuperMotocross World Championship with a statement victory, storming to the win at the Buenos Aires City Grand Prix in front of a packed international crowd at the Autódromo Juan y Oscar Gálvez.

Under the lights of Argentina’s capital, Roczen looked razor-sharp aboard his Progressive Ecstar Suzuki, controlling both motos with trademark precision and aggression. The German rider grabbed the holeshot in Moto 1 and never looked back, fending off early pressure from Cooper Webb and Chase Sexton to secure a confident win.

In the second moto, Roczen faced a fierce challenge from Jett Lawrence, who rebounded after a tough start in Moto 1. The two battled wheel-to-wheel for several laps before Roczen capitalized on a small mistake from Lawrence in the rhythm section, reclaiming the lead and holding it to the checkers.

“This is exactly how we wanted to start the season,” Roczen said on the podium, surrounded by roaring fans waving both German and Argentine flags. “The team has been working so hard, and the bike felt amazing out here. The energy in Buenos Aires was unreal — I’m already looking forward to the next round.”

Jett Lawrence finished second overall with a 4-2 score, showing his usual speed but admitting to some early-race struggles with setup. Cooper Webb rounded out the podium after a pair of consistent rides, keeping himself firmly in the championship hunt.
