Round 9 of the AMA Supercross Championship delivered high drama inside Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, where Hunter Lawrence emerged victorious in the second Triple Crown event of the 2026 season after an intense three-race battle with Eli Tomac. Consistency proved critical throughout the night as Lawrence used finishes of 2-4-1 to edge Tomac for the overall victory in the premier 450SX class.

The opening race of the night went to Ken Roczen, who surged to the front and controlled the race to take a convincing win. Lawrence finished second while Tomac battled forward from a start outside the top ten to claim third. Â Race two delivered more chaos. Tomac briefly looked poised to take the victory after charging to the front, but Justin Cooper reclaimed the lead late and held on for the win. Tomac finished second with Cooper Webb third, while Lawrence lost valuable points after an incident with lapped riders dropped him to fourth. Â Everything came down to the final race. Lawrence rebounded with a clutch performance, charging to the win when it mattered most. Tomac finished second in the final moto, giving both riders equal points for the night, but Lawrence secured the overall victory thanks to his race-three win in the tiebreaker.

In the 250SX East class, Cole Davies delivered a breakout performance by sweeping all three races to secure his first win of the season. The dominant effort also moved the Yamaha rider into the points lead by a single point over Seth Hammaker, tightening an already close title fight.
