BF Goodrich Tires Ends Pit Support Program

BF Goodrich Tires Ends Pit Support Program

After more than 50 years, the BF Goodrich Pit Support Program has come to an end. According to BF Goodrich, the program is ending due to low participation. BF Goodrich also cites technology changes along with the rise in need for team-specific pit service as reasons for ending the program. The change will affect racers at the upcoming Baja 500.

A statement released by company representatives read: “To teams that used pit support: We know this change might be tough to process. The decision wasn’t an easy one to make. Five decades ago, reliable pit support was hard to come by, and BFGoodrich capably filled that void for race teams of all sizes and classes. Today, most teams have their own pit support, tailored to their drivers’ exact needs. With that, participation in the BFGoodrich Pit Support Program has steadily dwindled.”

BF Goodrich has operated multiple pits, supporting Baja racers for the last five decades. Teams had access to tools, tires and other support logistics during the long races. BF Goodrich says they will continue to support the off-road community with interim pit support options, race tire development, on-site logistics and mapping.
