Aaron Plessinger’s five-year run with Red Bull KTM Factory Racing has officially come to an end, with the team confirming Tuesday that the popular Ohio rider will leave the factory program following the conclusion of the 2026 SuperMotocross season. Plessinger joined KTM ahead of the 2022 season and quickly became one of the most recognizable riders under the Red Bull KTM tent.
His strongest championship seasons came in 2023 and 2024, when Plessinger finished third in the 450 Pro Motocross standings in consecutive years. He also enjoyed his breakthrough 450SX victory at San Diego in 2024, taking the championship points lead with the win. Plessinger added another Supercross victory in 2025, winning at Foxborough, while continuing to rack up podium finishes throughout the season. His 2026 campaign was more difficult, however, with multiple injury setbacks affecting his season.
Despite the results, Plessinger became a major fan favorite during his time with KTM, with his personality and trademark “Cowboy” persona making him one of the most popular riders in the paddock.
“These have been some of the best five years of my life, and especially during my career,” Plessinger said in KTM’s announcement. “I’ve had a great time at Red Bull KTM Factory Racing and I’m going to miss everybody a lot.
Plessinger has reportedly signed a two-year deal with 5.11 Triumph Factory Racing .
