[{"id":3917,"permalink":"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/2021\/11\/20\/luke-mcmillin-and-rob-maccachren-super-team-win-score-baja-1000\/","title":"Luke McMillin and Rob MacCachren Super Team Win SCORE Baja 1000","content":"This year\u2019s SCORE Baja 1000 was all about Super teams in the Trophy Truck division. Luke McMillin teamed up with Rob MacCachren in the 4-Wheel Parts Trophy truck. The Super Team of Bryce Menzies and Andy McMillin also teamed up. Menzies was first off the line after winning the SCORE Baja 400. Menzies stayed out front with Luke just minutes behind most of the day. At the halfway point in the race Menzies turned the truck over to Andy. Just a mile down the road, the motor let go in a heartbreaking end to Menzies and Andy\u2019s run. MacCachren and Luke moved into the lead and never looked back. This is Luke\u2019s second consecutive win at the SCORE Baja 1000. The Super Team finished the grueling 1226-mile race in 20 hours 45 minutes and 59 seconds.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3920\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-Baja-1000_Menzies-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3919\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-Baja-1000_McMillinWin-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/>\r\n\r\n\u201cIt was a great day. Rob (MacCachren) brought me a great truck in second place. He got on the radio and told me it was a perfect truck so that put the pressure on me that it\u2019s go time. We did our homework, we did our pre-running. We hit our marks. Zero flat tires, zero close calls. The BFGoodrich Tires were unbelievable. We just stayed on the course and did our thing. That made it fun,\u201d said Luke McMillin at the finish line.\r\n\u201cEspecially when you hear you are picking up time and closing the time gap. We knew if we could just keep it up we would be in pretty good shape. And that is what happened today. We just kept going and going and got our lead up to 41 minutes, but we weren\u2019t doing anything crazy. The spectators were good. The silt wasn\u2019t bad with our AWD. We just cruised.\u201d\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3921\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-Baja-1000_1X-Win-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/>\r\n\r\nMark Samuels took the victory in the two-wheeled motorcycle division. Samuels raced the 1x Honda CRF450x with teammates Justin Morgan, Kendall Norman and Brandon Prieto. This is the team\u2019s 12<sup>th<\/sup> consecutive title in SCORE.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3923\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/2021-Baja-1000_WilsonClass1-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nAfter a penalty review, Brad Wilson took the Class 1 win for Wilson Motorsports. The final tally of entries rings in at 302. For the last two days technical inspection and contingency was held in Ensenada. The course mileage for the race tops out at 1226 miles starting in Ensenada and finishes in La Paz. There is a 50-hour time limit to finish. Some of the fastest vehicles will finish in 22 hours.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3906\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/SCORE-Baja1k_AerialEndTech-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" \/>\r\n\r\nMany teams have spent countless days and hours pre-running for race. Bryce Menzies and Andy McMillin will be the first Trophy Truck off the line followed by the super team of Luke McMillin and Rob MacCachren.
