[{"id":11136,"permalink":"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/2024\/11\/26\/tomac-and-mcelrath-dominate-wsx-double-header\/","title":"Tomac and McElrath Dominate WSX Double Header","content":"A round two and three doubleheader were held in Australia for the FIM World Supercross Championships. \u00a0Both Eli Tomac and Shane McElrath had dominating motos that earned them overall podiums as well as catapulted them ahead in the points standings.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_11137\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]<img class=\"size-large wp-image-11137\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/WSX-2024-Australia_Tomac-Win-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/> Eli Tomac dominated the WSX doubleheader. Photo: WSX[\/caption]\r\n\r\nJoey Savatgy won the Saturday\u2019s SuperPole but in the end the rider struggled for position. Tomac was resilent and staged a comeback, leading every lap and taking a victory in almost every single moto he raced for the rest of the weekend. Savtagy did regain some redemption, winning the GP Race 2 on Sunday but it wasn\u2019t enough to unseat Tomac who had a 1-3-1-1 record.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_11138\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]<img class=\"size-large wp-image-11138\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/WSX-2024-Australia_McElrath-Win--1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/> Shane McElrath was equally dominant in his class at WSX. Photo: WSX[\/caption]\r\n\r\nShane McElrath came away with an overall victory in both rounds. McElrath won three out of four rounds, with a close battle with Coty Schock. \u201cI\u2019m really happy with my weekend. It\u2019s been a heavy weekend of riding, the track was very technical, it was changing throughout the races, it was really hot, and it was tough having the back-to-back races,\u201d said McElrath.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_11140\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]<img class=\"size-large wp-image-11140\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/11\/WSX-Australia-2024-Bikes-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/> The final WSX race of the season will be held in Abu Dhabi.
