Benavides broke his right femur and had to be airlifted to a hospital in Dubai. Benavides underwent a successful surgery and will be discharged from the hospital.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6648\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/Kevin-Benavides-KTM-Moto-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nIt is unknown when Benavides will return to competition. Benavides won the the Dakar Rally for the Red Bull KTM team in January. Peterhansel has won the event eight times since 1996, but this is his first with Audi and electric RS Q-etron. Peterhansel took the early lead on day one of the rally and never looked back.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4829\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/Audi_AbuDhabiRally_Front-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nThis is the first time a car with an electric powertrain has won a desert rally.
