The penalty was levied against Jett after he jumped the gate over the weekend at the Ironman Moto in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Jett immediately dropped from third to seventeenth in the standings, effectively ending his bid for the overall season points championship.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_13800\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Jett Lawrence recieved a 1-lap penalty at the Ironman National for jumping the gate. The points battle has been tight for Chase Sexton and Eli Tomac. Sexton\u2019s to 1-1 dominant sweep allowed him to reclaim the points lead. Here is what happened during the motos.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn 450 Moto one, Dylan Ferrandis was finally out front with the holeshot. As usual, Ken Roczen wasn\u2019t far behind. Jason Anderson was running third until he had a small miscue that allowed Eli Tomac get around. Tomac wasted zero time making a pass to get to the lead. Sexton was quietly moving his way up through the pack and soon closed in on Tomac. It wasn\u2019t long before Sexton took over the lead and checked out. In the second moto, Tomac was back out front with the holeshot. In a repeat of the first moto, Sexton moved his way up again to chase down Tomac. Sexton waited for just the right moment, catching Tomac off guard before rocketing to the lead. When it was all over, Sexton had built a 15 second lead on Tomac for the win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the 250 motos, Justin Cooper had the holeshot. Cooper crashed allowing several riders to get by including Jo Shimoda who assumed the lead. Shimoda stayed there through the finish of the moto for the win. In the second moto, Justin Cooper was back out front with another holeshot. Cooper was soon challenged by Jett Lawrence but defended his moves every time. In the final attempt to pass Cooper, Lawrence crashed. Cooper soon put a ten second lead on the rest of the field to claim the win. The overall went to Jo Shimoda. Jason Anderson came out swinging to win a long-awaited victory in the series.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Moto One, Chase Sexton had an early lead with a successful holeshot. Jason Anderson was right there with Ken Roczen also in the mix. Soon the battling focused solely on Anderson and Sexton. Towards the end of the moto, Anderson made a move around Sexton finishing with just three tenths of a second. In the second moto, Antonio Cairoli was out front for the first time, but it was short lived as Roczen moved to the lead. Anderson spent much of the moto working his way up from sixth-place start. Up front Sexton and Roczen battled for the lead. Tomac soon entered the battle. Tomac made a pass for the lead and kept Sexton behind him the whole time. Anderson\u2019s third place finish earned him the overall moto win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the 250 class, Michael Mosiman battled to hold on to the lead and win. This is the first race of the season on the east coast and third event of the summer tour.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nAdam Cianciarulo grabbed the 450 Moto 1 holeshot and was out front. As the moto got underway, Ken Roczen found himself briefly on the ground as did Chase Sexton. In what was a crazy race, Cianciarulo crashed into a lapped rider right before the finish. He regained his composure to take the win. Cianciarulo was back out with great speed in the second moto. Eli Tomac and Adam Cianciarulo battled for the lead as the moto got underway. Tomac cruised to a win. Cianciarulo settled for fourth. The consistency of Dylan Ferrandis\u2019 two second place podiums earned him the overall and points lead for the season stealing away Ken Roczen\u2019s hard earned red plate.\r\n\r\n\"\"\u00a0 \"\"\r\n\r\nIn the 250 Moto #1, RJ Hampshire had a solid lead, but Jett Lawrence was behind Hampshire making his way to the front. Suddenly, Hampshire\u2019s bike suffered mechanical issues, knocking him out of the race. When the dirt settled, Jalek Swoll took the Moto 1 win. In the second Moto, Colt Nichols was out front with the holeshot. Justin Cooper would take the lead away from Nichols. Cooper managed to hold off Jett Lawrence for the win.
