Driving the No. 10 Ford Raptor for Team Papas and Beer, Ampudia crossed the finish line with a time of 8:12:29<\/span><\/strong>, averaging about 52.10 mph<\/span><\/strong>. <\/b>To top off the win, it was Mexican Independence Day and Ampudia is the local Ensenada hero.\r\n\r\nAmpudia was locked into a fierce battle almost to the end of race with top qualifier Toby Price. Price team went down with a flat tire, giving Ampudia the advantage and win. Both drivers were getting time split updates during the race that things could be close. The race will be held starting in Ensenada on September 10th<\/sup>. The course features a 424.96-mile racecourse open to cars, trucks and UTVs. The Pro Motorcycle and Quad classes will run a slightly longer course mapped at 434.52-miles. The course has also been shortened for the the Sportsman classes at just 393.91 miles. Bryce Menzies has won the last three Baja 400 events.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe route starts through Rancho Nelson and winds through Rancho Cascabeles before crossing Highway 3 at KM 33. It then heads up Rancho Grijalva in Ojos Negros and climbs up the mountains in Urapan before hitting Highway 1 right next to the Acambaro market and into Santo Tomas. The course then heads into the San Vicente wash going into Lopez Rayon, Malibu Beach, Cerro Solo and Johnson Ranch, then winding around Punta Colonet over to Llano Colorado. I knew it was going to be a long way from there with those guys charging hard from behind me. I just had to play it smart, keep my eyes on the ball and have no flats because that was really going to make it hard for us. We kept those guys behind us and just kind of cruised all the way from there. I had to go back to my two-wheel drive days, but it was unreal. What a day. Ironically, Luke McMillin is the defending champion this year in Trophy Truck. His disqualification at the Baja 500 moved Rob closer to the top. The duo decided to campaign MacCachren\u2019s Trophy Truck race number and use him as driver of record to win points for the championship. MacCachren has four season point championships in the SCORE Trophy Truck division.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nJason McNeil may not have won the SCORE Baja 1000, but he did secure the points championship. McNeil had back to back wins in the Baja 500 and Baja 400 this year in the Trophy Spec division.
