Thomas continued his momentum into Saturday\u2019s racing action, fighting the rest of the field for his second win of the weekend. Sunday\u2019s Pro-4 winner was... yep you guessed it, Thomas again! The three wins gives Thomas a 37-point lead going into the final rounds at Crandon.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_10283\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Jimmy Henderson secured two Pro-4 wins at Bark River. Photo: Champ Off Road[\/caption]\r\n\r\nOver in Pro-Lite, Johnny Holtger broke the winning streak of Trey Gibbs. A mistake by Gibbs allowed Holtger to get by for the Friday win. Saturday, Gibbs had learned his lesson and was back on top of the podium. Sunday there was a little shake-up as Gibbs played it cool allowing Carson Parrish to grab the win. By then, Gibbs already mathematically had clinched the Pro-Lite championship with just one race weekend to go.","excerpt":"

A Friday round is being added to the schedule to accommodate a cancelled race that was rained out in Crandon in June. The triple-header will take place at Bark River Raceway in Michigan on August 9th<\/sup> -11th<\/sup>.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_7590\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Ryan Beat leads the Pro-2 field at Bark River International Raceway.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nHosting a make-up round for the series is vitally important because the season points battle is tight in several classes. Ryan Beat lead the Pro-2 class over Mickey Thomas. The two drivers are separated by just six points. Trey Gibbs currently enjoys a comfortable lead in Pro-Lite, but Gibbs needs to keep the momentum up to keep Johnny Holtger from closing in on the Championship. Nick Visser and Dylan Parsons have a close battle in Pro-Spec and Jordan Bernloehr just recently took over the lead in Pro Buggy over Lorenzo Bonacci. The series has been going strong since its first race amid the 2020 pandemic. Now entering its fourth year, the series returns with six weekends across twelve rounds of racing.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe series kicks off in May at Dirt City Motorplex. Championship Off-Road will visit the venue twice during the season, returning in late July. Antigo is also back on the schedule in early June along with ERX Motorpark and Bark River. The track was near perfect. Fans packed the hillside for the final day of racing at the famous Upper Michigan track.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting races of the day was the Pro-4 class. CJ Greaves had the early lead with the rest of field roaring right behind him. Just after the mandatory caution, Jimmy Henderson came off a jump close enough to cause CJ to swerve into a guardrail. Henderson moved into the lead. Unfortunately, Henderson was forced into the hot pits allowing Adrian Cenni to take command of the race. Cenni drove his Pro-4 to his first 2023 win in the Championship Off Road Racing Series.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro-2 class also put on another exciting race for the fans with tight door to door action. Points leader, Cory Winner had the lead until Mickey Thomas found enough speed to claim the win. Located in the upper peninsula of Michigan in the small township of Bark River, fans packed grandstands to watch racing on the 1.5-mile track. Speeds here reach in excess of 90 miles an hour.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the drivers finding some last-minute speed was Ryan Beat in the Pro-2 class. The race started with fifteen trucks on the lead lap. Zach Zakowski led a couple of laps early on before spinning around in a corner. Soon, Keegan Kincaid shot to the lead with heavy pressure from the rest of field. On the very last lap, Kincaid appeared to have a rear tire go flat. In the final corner, Beat shot to the lead, beating Kincaid by half a truck length for the win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro-4 race was just as exciting. CJ Greaves and Adrian Cenni battled early on. CJ would be forced into the hot pits for a rapid-fire tire change. CJ managed to get back on the lead lap and quickly shot through the field to get back up front. \u00a0Next, it was Cenni\u2019s turn to change a flat tire. Cole Mamer moved into the lead until his truck quit, forcing him to pull off the track. CJ regained his lead position and never looked back securing the win.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nBrody Eggleston appears to be having a comeback season as he claimed his third win in Championship Off Road Racing. Eggleston wasted no time putting his Pro-Lite into the lead. Eggleston fought off pressure from Madix Bailey, Kyle Greaves and Trey Gibbs. At the checkered flag, Eggleston was estatic with the win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOther class wins went to Nick Visser in Pro=Spec, Rodney VanEperen in Pro Turbo and Jordan Bernloehr in Pro-Buggy. The tour will include seven stops, up one from the previous six venue schedule. The opening round will once again be held in Antigo, Wisconsin at the Roaring Lions Raceway. The series has held the opening round the last two years at the venue. The tour then moves to Crandon, Wisconsin for the Spring brush run events June 24th<\/sup>-25th<\/sup>.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn July, ERX Motorpark and Dirt City are back on the schedule. August includes Bark River. The series heads to Crandon for the traditional Labor Weekend races, but it doesn\u2019t end there. The season championship races will be held in an expanded seventh round at Mid America Outdoors in Jay, Oklahoma\u2013 a new venue for the series. A pro banquet and additional $50,000 purse will also take place during the weekend.\r\n\r\n\u201cOff-road racing has an extremely passionate base, led by both its competitors and its fans,\u201d said Carl Schubitzke. \u201cWe have been looking for ways to expand, while keeping our core events intact. The MidAmerica Outdoors group brings the same passion and dedication that we have grown accustomed to here in the Midwest. We know that the first six rounds of racing will be spectacular and will lead to an amazing finish in Oklahoma.\u201d\r\n
