According to BF Goodrich, the program is ending due to low participation. BF Goodrich also cites technology changes along with the rise in need for team-specific pit service as reasons for ending the program. The change will affect racers at the upcoming Baja 500.\r\n\r\nA statement released by company representatives read: \u201cTo teams that used pit support: We know this change might be tough to process. The decision wasn\u2019t an easy one to make. Five decades ago, reliable pit support was hard to come by, and BFGoodrich capably filled that void for race teams of all sizes and classes. Today, most teams have their own pit support, tailored to their drivers\u2019 exact needs. With that, participation in the BFGoodrich Pit Support Program has steadily dwindled.\u201d\r\n\r\nBF Goodrich has operated multiple pits, supporting Baja racers for the last five decades. Teams had access to tools, tires and other support logistics during the long races.
