The Lena Motorsports Club announced the decision, bringing an end to the facility’s nine-year run under the club’s operation. The club said it was unable to secure the property after the owner decided to sell the land. The announcement marks a significant change for one of the Midwest’s popular grassroots off-road racing venues, which was built with a focus on keeping sportsman racing alive while providing an affordable, family-friendly facility for racers and fans.

“Dirt City was built by racers, for racers,” Lena Motorsports Club said in its statement. The facility was established under a long-term lease agreement that included an option for the club to eventually purchase the property. According to the club, that opportunity was ultimately lost when the property owner made the decision to sell. As a result, Lena Motorsports Club made the difficult decision to withdraw Dirt City from the 2027 Champ Off-Road schedule.

The move comes after nearly a decade of racing at the facility, where countless volunteers, racers, families and spectators helped establish Dirt City as a staple of Midwest off-road racing. The club emphasized that Dirt City was never simply about the racing itself. “Dirt City has always been about more than just racing,” the club said.

While the 2027 Champ Off-Road schedule will move forward without Dirt City, the story may not be completely over. Lena Motorsports Club said it is currently in discussions with the new property owner regarding the future of the facility and what could potentially happen with the property moving forward. Those discussions have left the door open for at least one Dirt City tradition to return. The club remains hopeful that Sportsman Mayhem could be held at the facility in 2027, although no definitive plans have been announced.

Dirt City Motorplex in Lena, Wisconsin will not be part of the 2027 Champ Off-Road schedule as the future of …

https://dirtsportsworld.com/2026/10/05/henderson-and-beat-hold-strong-as-glen-helen-crowns-2026-champions/
Henderson and Beat Hold Strong as Glen Helen Crowns 2026 Champions
The 2026 AMSOIL Championship Off-Road season came down to one final night at Glen Helen Raceway, and the championship battles delivered exactly the kind of chaos expected from a season finale.
