The skies cleared, and the rain returned. That is the type of weekend racers had at the final Championship Off Road Race at the newest venue in the series- Mid America Outdoors. Located in Jay, Oklahoma, the track featured long sweeping turns and high banked elevation. Friday\u2019s practice and qualifying were rained out. Saturday, the track dried out enough to give racers a quick practice lap before racing began. Of course, being the final event weekend, championships were on the line. Saturday would be the only day for racing as another rainstorm rained out Sunday\u2019s event. That didn\u2019t stop the series from crowning champions.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro2 class, Cory Winner finally found redemption. In 2021, he missed the championship by a single point. He struggled again the following year. 2023 would finally be Winner\u2019s year. Consistent wins and podiums this season put Winner ahead of Mickey Thomas and Ryan Beat. When everything was fully tallied, Winner won the season championship by seventeen points. Ronnie Anderson came away with his first Championship Off Road win in Saturday\u2019s Pro-2 race.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nCJ Greaves won his eighth Pro4 championship. Seven season wins including Saturday\u2019s race at Mid America Outdoors, put CJ way out front in the points chase and almost untouchable. Even with a new truck, CJ quickly got into the groove with new set up to make it screaming fast.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro Lite Championship always seems to come down to the last race. Kyle Greaves has been in the hunt. Trey Gibbs has also been right there to capitalize on every point possible. Kyle stayed consistent only missing two podiums the entire season. Even with Brody Eggleston\u2019s Saturday win, Greaves still came out on top in the final point standings.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nChad Rayford came out swinging in the Pro Spec class. Rayford spent the off-season changing an older Pro Lite truck into spec class rules, adding a new motor that fit the program. He went out got a podium the first weekend he hit the track. From there Rayford had consistent finishes throughout the season. Unfortunately, contact in Saturday\u2019s race kept him off the podium and gave Nick Visser a win. Rayford\u2019s season points lead was enough to earn him the final championship spot for the season.","excerpt":"

The course took racers through rock gardens and up to tight twisty turns into trees that blossomed bright fall colors.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nComing into the weekend, Josh Blyler had the point lead over Vaughn Gittin Jr. As racing got started, Paul Horschel had the lead blasting through a \u201cjoker line\u201d on course. As Horschel put time on the rest of the field, he somehow began to experience issues. His teammate Brett Harrell unknowingly took over the lead. Harrell and his co-driver stayed consistent, clicking of laps. They were surprised when they learned at the checkered flag they had won the race. Meantime, Vaughn Gittin Jr was struggling to make it up the rock waterfalls. Up ahead, Josh Blyler was running a steady pace finishing third behind JP Gomez. Blyler had enough points to secure the season championship.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nA day earlier in the 4600 class, the story turned to the Ford Bronco. Brad Lovell, Vaughn Gittin Jr and Bailey Cole all stood atop the podium proudly displaying their stock Broncos. Brad Lovell\u2019s win also secured him the national championship in the Ultra4 series. Over in the 4500 class, Rick Lavezzo was crowned champion. Points championships came down to the final two rounds.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nEliot Watson\u2019s weekend sweeps and eight consecutive wins earned him enough points to win the championship. Watson was out front in both rounds ahead of second place Matt Brister. In Round 9, Trey Gibbs was able to get around Matt Brister for a second-place podium finish.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nBrock Heger was out front in Pro-Lite in Round 9. Heger won the race wire to wire. Ronnie Anderson finished second with Cole Mamer finishing third. In Round 10, Heger had enough points for the championship, all he had to do was start the race and save the truck. Ronnie Anderson was out front. After several cautions, the dust settled, and Christopher Polvoorde made it to the lead and took the win.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe tightest points battle was in the Pro-2 class. Jerett Brooks came into the final rounds with the points lead. Doug Mittag started Round 9 out front. It wasn\u2019t long before Brooks came from behind to take the lead. Ryan Beat was able to get around Mittag for second. Mittag finished third. In Round 10, Cory Winner was the polesitter. Winner was quickly passed by Trevor Leighton who led several laps. Leighton spun out and got passed by several trucks. It wouldn\u2019t be long before Jerett Brooks found his way to the front. Doug Mittag wasn\u2019t having any of it and drove his way right to the front and stayed there for the finish. Ryan Beat took another second-place finish. Brooks ended up third.
