Toby Price was the top qualifier, starting out front with clean air. Price\u2019s lead only lasted for the first hour of the race before getting passed by some of the fastest Trophy Truck drivers in the series. Among the top racers In the pack were Tavo Vildolsola, Alan Ampudia, Bryce Menzies and of course Luke who started fourth. Menzies who has won the San Felipe 250 in previous years finished third, towing competitor Vildolsola across the finish line.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nhttps:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=nqsCJSLAkgY\r\n\r\n\u201cI\u2019m really excited, really grateful to be able to pull off another win.\u00a0- It was awesome. In the UTV class beating out 67 other competitors across five classes was Rodrigo Ampudia. Ciaran Naran and Tuker Hopkins pulled off a surprising win in the unlimited motorcycle class. Racers locking up championships for 2021 in the SCORE World Desert Championship include Rob MacCachren. MacCachren\u2019s win with Luke McMillin at the Baja 1000 cemented the championship for Rob. Ironically, Luke McMillin is the defending champion this year in Trophy Truck. His disqualification at the Baja 500 moved Rob closer to the top. The duo decided to campaign MacCachren\u2019s Trophy Truck race number and use him as driver of record to win points for the championship. MacCachren has four season point championships in the SCORE Trophy Truck division.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nJason McNeil may not have won the SCORE Baja 1000, but he did secure the points championship. McNeil had back to back wins in the Baja 500 and Baja 400 this year in the Trophy Spec division. In addition to winning his class championship, McNeil also secures the overall truck point championship.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOther class winners include Cody Parkhouse who secured the Class 1 championship. Parkhouse won the SCORE Baja 400. He struggled, unable to finish the Baja 500. With a second-place finish during the Baja 1000, Parkhouse was able to lock up the class championship. Phil Blurton will run the number one plate next year in the Pro UTV Forced Induction class after winning the championship this year.","excerpt":"

Luke battled all day for the lead with brother Dan and several other top Trophy Truck drivers. At one point near the end of the race, the Ampudia team was four minutes behind Luke on corrected time past the last checkpoint. Their trophy truck struck a rock on the course they weren\u2019t able to see due to the dust, tearing off the front end just miles from the finish. Rob MacCachren took second.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nWe got some gnarly silt and some tough bumps out there. Part of the portion I drove was also part of the course of the SCORE Baja 500, so it was just rough. It\u2019s hard to pick up your pace in a 1,000-mile race and don\u2019t beat up the truck too much, so we tried to be strategic on that. It was a tough course, but a great course.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nBF Goodrich handed Luke a bonus check totaling $25,000 for his win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nCody Parkhouse won Class 1 after gaining a substantial lead. The Parkhouse team had to fix a few flat tires and a broken belt during the race. Jeremy Davis took a class 10 win for the Green Army Team. Jeff Bader was victorious in the Trophy Truck Spec class. Road racer Rhys Millen won class 7 and Elliot Watson claimed the Pro UTV win for Team Honda. Wes Miller also won in the Pro UTV forced induction class. The race was held in San Felipe over the weekend. Robby Gordon was the top qualifier in the trophy truck class. The course length was 493 miles and went north up to Mexicali before turning back south towards San Felipe.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nGordon started out front and held the lead for the first 200 miles. The Herbst trophy truck was close behind Gordon. Tim Herbst made it to the finish line first, but once official tracking data was reviewed, the win was awarded to Dan McMillin. McMillin finished the race in 8 hours, 29 seconds. McMillin\u2019s co-driver for the Baja 500 was Justin \u201cBean\u201d Smith.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOther wins went to Cody Parkhouse in Class 1, Santiago Creel in Trophy Truck Spec and Ivan Tagle in Class 10. Mark Samuels took a victory in the Pro Motorcycle Class. Kristen Matlock won the Pro UTV class.
