\r\n\r\nThe Modified Kart race saw some great battles between the up and coming youth of the sport. Talan Martin battled with ten of his closest competitors to come out and sweep the weekend. Dane Culver took second on the podium in Saturday\u2019s round 2. In Round 3, Drapkin had all the power he needed to beat Brister taking over the top podium position. Johnny Holtger found the speed he needed with a battle in Pro-Lite, bringing home a Round 2 victory. Connor Barry fell short one spot finishing second. Barry wasn\u2019t done yet, in Sunday\u2019s Round 3, he answered back with a win swapping spots with Holtger. \r\n\r\nThe mini stock class consists of literally stock trucks that have been gutted and caged with minimal safety requirements including a fuel cell and window nets. Robert Orr figured how to stay out front both rounds for a weekend sweep. Defending class champion Anthony Csuzi struggled throughout the weekend but came away with a pair of second place finishes. With just two laps to go a mechanical failure would end Anderson\u2019s day. \r\n\r\nIn Pro-Buggy, Lorenzo Bonacci had the fastest laps in his Bomber Eyewear machine. Bonacci managed to stay out front most of the race. In the Pro-Lite class, Connor Barry was out front for the first half of the race. Barry made a mistake opening the door for his competitors to pass him but during a mandatory caution, Barry shot right back to the lead to bring home the checkered flag.\r\n\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/02\/2023GASHammersRound_ModKart-1024x683.jpg\")
\r\n\r\nIn the youth class, Modified Kart is always a highly competitive short course race. Cade Martin beat out sibling Talan Martin who finished second on the podium. \r\n\r\nIn Round One Pro-2, Mickey Thomas and Jerett Brooks went door to door for several laps. In the end, Thomas took the victory with a hard-earned podium. Sunday\u2019s Round two race was just as exciting. This time however, it was Ricky Gutierrez who inserted himself in the mix. For Gutierrez, the gloves were off and fought a hard battle to gain the lead and bring home a much-awaited win.\r\n\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/ChampOffRoadAntigo_ProLite-1024x683.jpg\")
\r\n\r\nThe Pro Lite class saw much of the same door to door battling each lap. Nineteen drivers took to the track. Brock Heger is the defending champion from last year he spent the first several laps chasing down Carson Parrish. After a yellow flag, Heger bucked down and it didn\u2019t take him long to find his groove out front holding off attacks in every corner. In Round two, rookie Connor Barry found his way to the front and lead some laps. Unfortunately, a couple of mistakes would erase his lead and when the dust settled, he finished shy of the podium. \r\n\r\nOver in Pro-4, the usual battle was between CJ Greaves and Kyle Leduc. As the laps ticked down, CJ had a comfortable lead earning the top spot on the podium with Adrian Cenni second and Leduc third. Sunday, Leduc did all he could to stay up front, but an issue would almost put him a lap down and send him to the back of the pack. A wild turn one crash by Adrian Cenni would send the field to a red flag. Leduc was able to get back into the mix. With a Green, White, Checker, Leduc went head to head making contact with Johnny Greaves. That contact caused Johnny to have tire damage resulting in a flat. \r\n\r\nSeven points separated Christopher Polvoorde and Madix Bailey. Bailey remained in a good position for most of the weekend. Sunday, Bailey would start out front and lead the field. He did everything he could to hold a charge from Polvoorde. In an instant, three laps into the race, Bailey rolled on his side in a turn. A full-course caution was brought out and the track crew righted Bailey, so he could continue on the lead lap. A lap later, heartbreak struck again as his race would end after contact with other trucks. \r\n\r\nOne of the most hotly contested battles right to the finish would be in Pro Buggy. It was an all-out track fight between Trevor Briska and Trey Gibbs. Both would charge extremely hard every lap right up until the final turn coming off a jump side-by-side. Briska got crossed up with Gibbs and ended up driving over him to finish the race. Gibbs was shut down. Dave Mason Jr cruised to an easy finish and championship in his eBay Motors backed Pro-2. Connor Barry locked up a modified kart championship. In the end, Polvoorde took the victory. The story was different during Sunday\u2019s Round 6. Jimmy Weitzel qualified on the pole. Madix Bailey started just next door. When the green flag dropped, Bailey rocketed out front. Christopher Polvoorde got collected with other trucks in the middle of the field. He would do everything he could to claw his way to the front. Weitzel regained the lead and stayed there the rest of the race.
