Brabec got a final of 38 points totals, bringing home the overall trophy for the Americans. This is Brabec\u2019s second win. Brabec last won the rally in 2020. A technical issue forced him out of last year\u2019s race.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIt\u2019s a nice way to start the year with a victory,\u201d Brabec said at the finish. \u201cIt wasn\u2019t easy as the course was really tough and so was the competition. Ross and my own team kept me on my toes, but not just me, I think we were keeping everyone on each other\u2019s toes. It was definitely a fight to the end for everyone. I\u2019m happy for all of us, we did an excellent job all of the two weeks. I think number 9 will be my lucky number from now on.\u201d\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOver in the car class, Carlos Sainz had an early overall lead and stayed there all the way to the finish. Sainz who started racing at the Dakar Rally now becomes the oldest winner in the history of the event. Sainz has won the event at least five times.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Challenger class, Mitch Guthrie Jr was leading overall until he wasn\u2019t. A heartbreaking mechanical issue would shut Guthrie down for over an hour. He lost the lead and overall race to Cristina Gutierrez. The purpose of the Red Bull Junior Team is to develop the next generation of off-road racers into stars of the future.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nTwenty-year old Seth Quintero returns to the team, driving a Maverick X3 in the upcoming Dakar Rally. Quintero broke records with 11 stage wins at the rally. The final event was held in Uruguay over the weekend. X44 Vida finished the event in third place by a half a second. The ABT Cupra XE team secured the event win at the Natural Energy X Prix.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nX44\u2019s team drivers Sebastien Loeb and Cristina Gutierrez did all they could to earn enough points for the weekend. \"We could only go and compete with everything we had and try to score maximum points. In the Final, it was a critical moment because I was fourth and we needed to be third. We had some contact here and there, but there was nothing I could do to overtake. Cristina did a great job to stay very close to the car in front and we knew potentially we were third. At the end it was what we needed so I\u2019m really relieved to be here and really proud to win this championship,\u201d said Loeb.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nBoth teammates drove smart, keeping the race leaders in sight. Up front and behind, teams were receiving penalties for hitting flags, speeding and other rule infractions. Ultimately the pressure loosened for the Vida Carbon team. This is the first time the Extreme E Series has held an event on the South American continent. Extreme E cancelled its South American plans last year due to COVID concerns. Twenty world class drivers battled for the win on the rollercoaster style course.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIt was a good weekend for X44 drivers Sebastien Loeb and Cristina Gutierrez who finished second on course physically. They were awarded the win after the McLaren team received on-track penalties. Championship leaders Rosberg X Racing struggled with technical issues. The Chip Ganassi Hummer team initially finished third, but a penalty for a missed waypoint dropped them to fourth\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nToday was amazing, we are so happy to have won the Copper X Prix and to still be in the fight for the championship.
