\r\n\r\nThe race featured a two-day format. Vehicles raced four laps on a 17-mile course that included the famous \u201croad crossing.\u201d The course features a high-speed straight section before it crosses over the pavement at Needles Highway. Usually by the time vehicles reach the pavement, they have enough speed to literally fly over the road. There were five heats each day. Winning times were combined into an overall finish from both days of racing.\r\n\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/LaughlinDesertClassic_Grabowski-1024x683.jpg\")
\r\n\r\nTwenty-five trucks were entered in the highly competitive 6100 class. Andrew Meyers took a Saturday victory over Dustin Grawbowski. Sunday was the same story with Meyers getting the overall. \r\n\r\nThe series hosted a youth UTV race sponsored by 4-wheel parts. With 50 young racers participating. Chase Mankin took home a win in the UTV Y 250 class. Jacob Williamson won in the 170 Youth class. \r\n\r\nIn Saturday\u2019s pro-race, top qualifier Mitch Guthrie was out front with the holeshot. Guthrie was leading for the first four laps until he blew a shock causing him to fall back in the field. That opened the door for Ryan Piplic to take the lead. Piplic was being chased down by Dustin Jones until Jones lost power steering. Piplic would take the win. \r\n\r\nComing off a winning streak at another desert series, Kevin Thompson and Harley Letner entered their unlimited truck in the Legacy Baja Nevada race. They didn\u2019t even need to clean the dust off of it. The team came in first both days earning them the overall win. Eric Hustead and TJ Flores took second in the class. Jake Johnson also pulled off an overall Class 1 win. The Stronghold Motorsports team of Brandon Bailey came in second even after stopping on the course to help Ryan Arciero after his truck burned to the ground.
