Initially Amber Turner-Slawson was the first vehicle back to Hammertown and for a short time it looked like she would be the first female to secure an overall win. After tracking data was reviewed by the officials, it was determined Turner-Slawson had missed several virtual checkpoints along the course and assessed penalties for each one skipped.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_11972\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Brad Lovell makes a critical pass on Bailey Cole at Chocolate Thunder.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nTurner-Slawson finished third overall and second in her class. Cody Young finished second overall and first in his class competing against Turner-Slawson in the Legends class. Brad Lovell was driving a Bronco in the 4600-stock class. On the second lap, Lovell passed Bailey Cole in the rocks just below Chocolate Thunder and continued his charge towards the checkered flag. \u201cI can\u2019t tell you how thrilled I am to be here in the Ford Bronco at the finish line, it was dusty, it was intense,\u201d Lovell said in a finish line interview after the race. Legends vehicles are only allowed a single shock per corner. Modified vehicles get two shocks per corner. The stock class is the most restrictive, only allowing for minimal modifications to the vehicle. A new EV class was added for electric vehicles. Kyle Seggelin was the sole entry in that class and he did not finish the race.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe stock class was dominated by the Ford Bronco. Vaughn Gittin Jr. and Loren Healy who shared driving duties made it to the podium in first place. The Crandon short course track is one of those epic extremely fast tracks that many dream of racing on. The Crandon Classic served as the points finale between the East and North Series for Ultra4. Several drivers participated in the event just because they wanted the opportunity to race at Crandon.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe race was held under the lights with a special rock section in the back of the woods. Hundreds of fans stayed into the night to watch the purpose built 4400 rock buggies hang it all out. New to the format this year was the opportunity for UTV\u2019s and Every Man Challenge Vehicles to participate in the race. Being a final points race, made things exciting for the drivers.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nLoren Healy was the fastest all night in his custom Bronco-like Ultra4 car. Brad Lovell edged out Seth Van Dyke for the win. The win was a little redemption for Lovell who was in the same situation in 2010, getting beat by Loren Healy by a mere 28 seconds. Every second counts in racing which includes driving smart and not wasting time in the rocks.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cI was worried there weren\u2019t going to be enough rocks for us this year! Because this is fast in the rocks, but it\u2019s not all that fast in the desert. We bunched up with all 4 of these cars out here on Spooners, and we got out in the desert and I figured I gotta run this thing for all it\u2019s worth, and just killed it, but we made it in,\u201d said Lovell at the finish line.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Lovell brothers have been racing the same Ford Ranger for the last decade and it shows they have not lost their touch. The brothers can run the Hammer trails in their sleep.\r\n\r\nThe Legends class was created for the exact vehicle the Lovells race. Every year, the cost of a winning KOH car goes up as new technology, suspension design and motor packages are added. The Every Man Challenge celebrates those who just can\u2019t keep up with the new evolution. The racers and vehicles in the EMC may not be as competitive as those in the big 4400 KOH event, but they still have a passion for racing the Hammers.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nDan Fresh was the winner in the Modified Class. Requirements include starting with a production-based vehicle, partial frame, mechanical steering and 37-inch DOT approved tires. The 4600 class is the most restrictive of Everyman Challenge.
