SX Global, the commercial and promotional rights holder for World Supercross, announced Sept. 21 that discussions with potential investors are progressing as the company looks to strengthen the series and establish a more sustainable platform for its teams, riders, partners and fans.\r\n\r\nThe British GP was scheduled for Oct. 10 at Birmingham\u2019s Alexander Stadium and was set to be Round 2 of the 2026 championship. SX Global said the timing of the investment process required short-term operational measures, resulting in the decision to cancel the event. Ticket holders will receive information directly from Ticketmaster, with refunds automatically processed to the original method of payment. SX Global said refunds are expected to be received within 14\u201321 days.\r\n\r\nThe championship opened its 2026 season Aug. 8 in Calgary, Canada, and remains scheduled to visit Buenos Aires, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand later this year.\r\n\r\nWorld Supercross teams issued a joint statement supporting the efforts to position the championship for the future and said they remain committed to racing when the series returns.","excerpt":"

The opener was held at Villa Park in Birmingham, England in front of a packed house of British fans. Roczen began the night as the top qualifier. Roczen also won his heat race.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the opening main event, Vince Friese had the early lead. Soon Roczen was at Friese\u2019s rear tire Unfortunately Friese went down and the lost the lead allowing Roczen to capitalize for the win. In the second main event, Friese was back out front. This time Friese was able to keep Roczen at bay and bring home a win. Roczen finished second. In the final main event Friese went down again. Roczen shot to the front for the win and the overall victory of the event.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cThe track wasn\u2019t super technical, but it was hard tonight. And my starts weren\u2019t where they needed to be, so I gave myself some work and had to make some passes,\u201d said Ken Roczen. \u00a0\u201cWith the races being so short you had to make a plan on the fly and pass when you could, and it got a bit close. But I was strong in the whoops and tried to stay low over the jumps. The announcement comes on the heels of Ken Roczen\u2019s multi-year commitment to the series.
