Lindstrom replaces Erik Kehoe who officially announced retirement last month.\r\n\r\nLindstrom has long been involved with American Honda motocross racing, joining the team in 2000 as a shop assistant and working his way up the ladder. Lindstrom was most recently a 450-crew chief. Lindstrom has worked with Honda\u2019s legendary riders such as Chad Reed, Ricky Carmichael and Jeremy McGrath. Lindstrom\u2019s father AMA hall of famer Gunnar Lindstrom spent two years in 1979 and 1980 managing the Honda motocross team.\r\n\r\n\u201cI\u2019m thankful for this opportunity that Team Honda HRC has given me,\u201d Lindstrom said. \u201cMy nearly two decades with Honda have been great, and I\u2019m excited for many more years to come. With my background, I feel I have the experience, knowledge and work ethic to be at the helm of the team. Team Honda HRC has announced Kehoe will step down as manager of the US factory Honda team, a position he has held since 2018. Kehoe was also manager of the Honda team from 2002 to 2012.\r\n\r\nKehoe started his career as a Honda-backed professional racer in the late 80\u2019s and early 90\u2019s. During Kehoe\u2019s management tenure, the team earned five AMA Pro National Motocross Championships and two AMA Supercross Championships. Most recently, he worked with Jett Lawrence who just wrapped up the AMA Pro Motocross 250 Championship.\r\n\r\n\u201cThis decision to retire was very difficult, but at the same time, I know it\u2019s time to slow down my pace,\u201d Kehoe said. \u201cI would like to thank American Honda, and [Manager of Sports &amp; Experiential] Brandon Wilson in particular, for giving me the chance to return to the team this last time. I really wanted to help get Honda some positive momentum in supercross and motocross, and this past season, I think the team has enjoyed many successes.
