With most riders just getting a few weeks off after a busy Supercross season the points chase for the Supermotocross World Championship continues. Points are combined from both series along with two playoff rounds and a final in the fall.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_13041\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Jett Lawrence returned to Pro Motocross with a sweep of both motos. Jett is back on the track after an injury sidelined him during the Supercross season. Jett proved just how much he had recovered, going on to win the first moto with Cooper Webb finishing second and Hunter third. In the second moto, Hunter earned the holeshot. Jett wasted no time getting to the lead. As laps went on in the moto, Eli Tomac was running second applying pressure to Jett. No matter what Tomac did, Jett held on to win again sweeping the weekend.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_13043\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Haiden Deegan kicked off the series with a sweep. Hymas went down midway through the moto allowing Haiden Deegan and Julien Beaumer to get by. Deegan remained out front all the way to the checkered flag. In the second moto, Tom Vialle and Beaumer were battling for the lead position. Soon Deegan was on the hunt and made his way to the front for a weekend sweep of both motos.","excerpt":"

A track marker became lodged in Kitchen\u2019s boot allowing Deegan to get by. Deegan claimed the holeshot in Moto 2 and carried the momentum to win. Race officials determined Vialle violated rule 1.6.20 (Track Cuts\/Unfair Advantage) in Moto 1 and docked him accordingly. All eyes were on both of the Lawrence brothers on their Hondas. Jett Lawrence made his debut in the 450 class after a dominating Supercross season in the 250 class. Hunter continued forward momentum in the 250 class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Moto 1 for the 450 class, Jett was out front an easy holeshot. Ferrandis was running second but had no way of catching Jett who was just too fast leading wire to wire. Chase Sexton was able to get around Ferrandis at the midway point and secure second place at the checkered flag. The second moto was a repeat of Jett\u2019s stellar performance. Ferrandis this time put a little more pressure on Jett. Chase Sexton quickly inserted himself into the battle and soon it was Jett vs. Sexton. Jett finished the race with Sexton right on his rear tire coming home with a 1-1 for the overall.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the 250 class, the first Moto saw Jalek Swoll grab the holeshot. RJ Hampshire soon moved to the lead but went over the bike in a rut. Hampshire and Swoll were able to continue. Hampshire was able to come away with the moto win. In the second moto, Hunter Lawrence grabbed the holeshot and stayed out front winning wire to wire. Tomac also took the championship in the Supercross series earlier this year. The win marks the fourth championship of his career. Also going back to back is Jett Lawrence in the 250 class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Outdoor Motocross series came to end right where it started at Fox Raceway in Pala, California. Riders battled extreme high temperatures amid a Southern California heatwave. Chase Sexton had the holeshot in Moto 1 with Tomac in tow. Tomac made a mid-race pass and continued to extend his gap on Sexton. Christian Craig had the holeshot in the second moto. Tomac started deep in the top 10 but made quick work of the riders in front of him. Sexton made several mistakes that cost him multiple positions. By the halfway point, Jason Anderson was running up front. Tomac had finally caught up to him. Anderson made a mistake and Tomac capitalized on the moment. Sexton was able to recover, but only making it to second, 9 seconds behind Tomac at the finish.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nTomac had this to say: \u201cI just think of this whole season in its entirety. It\u2019s been the most enjoyable season of my career, by far, starting with supercross and now motocross. This summer was incredible battling with Chase [Sexton]. It wasn\u2019t long before Eli Tomac and Shan McElrath were all battling for the lead. Chase Sexton worked his way through all of them to lead and capture the first win of the season. In the second Moto, Sexton was back out front. Roczen did all he could to get the top spot rocketing back into the lead for the first half of the moto. I thought it was a minor sprain, but the medical exam showed a broken ligament with the Stenner effect, which means it will never recover without surgery. Ken Roczen had a good run this season, but it wasn\u2019t enough close the points deficit between Dylan Ferrandis at the end of the season.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Moto one, Ferrandis scored the win. A second-place finish in Moto two, was all Ferrandis needed to clinch the title. He becomes the first Frenchman in 30 years to win the championship. The 450 class has seen 26 different title holders in the last 50 years. Huge crowds gathered to watch racing action.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nWhen the gate dropped for the 450 class, newly crowned Supercross Champion Cooper Webb had the holeshot. Adam Cianciarulo, who was the fastest on the track during practice rounds made his way to the lead. Ten minutes into the moto, Cianciarulo crashed on a downhill, opening the door for Webb and Ferrandis to battle for the lead. Ferrandis made a pass on Webb for the lead. Chase Sexton attempted to pass Ferrandis at the last minute but was unsuccessful. Ferrandis took the Moto 1 victory.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Moto 2, Aaron Plessinger took the holeshot. Ken Roczen was on a mission to get to the front. Roczen and Plessinger battled for the lead. Roczen forced Plessinger into a mistake and gained the lead and eventual victory.
