Plans include bringing Great American Shortcourse on the west coast together with the Mid America Racing Group in Oklahoma and MORR Racing in Wisconsin.\r\n\r\nRegional purses will total a combined $1 million with a minimum of $300,000 going to each region.\r\n\r\n\u201cGrassroots regional racing is the heart and soul of off-road motorsports. Families building cars together, coming to the track, spending time outdoors, and drivers getting seat time to develop their skills are critical to the long-term fun and success of short course racing on all levels\u201d said Jason Robinett, Owner and CEO of American Outdoors Events. \u201cWe are proud to continue evolving our support in the growth of Sportsman classes nationally the same way we have been growing regionally with our MAO Racing and MidAmerica Outdoors series the last four years.\u201d\r\n\r\nPart of combining the regional series together will include standardizing a rule book. Talan Martin battled with ten of his closest competitors to come out and sweep the weekend. Dane Culver took second on the podium in Saturday\u2019s round 2. Ashton Williams collected that spot in Sunday\u2019s round 3.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro Buggy, Matt Brister held the top podium spot during Round 2. Zach Drapkin finished second. In Round 3, Drapkin had all the power he needed to beat Brister taking over the top podium position. Johnny Holtger found the speed he needed with a battle in Pro-Lite, bringing home a Round 2 victory. Connor Barry fell short one spot finishing second. Hundreds of race fans were already on the Johnson Valley lakebed for the prestigious King of the Hammers events and they were excited to see some door to door short course racing action.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro2 race, Ronnie Anderson was out front leading most of the laps. Even with caution flags Anderson stayed in front of the chaos. With just two laps to go a mechanical failure would end Anderson\u2019s day. Rowdy Ryan Beat capitalized on Anderson\u2019s misfortune and brought home the victory.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro-Buggy, Lorenzo Bonacci had the fastest laps in his Bomber Eyewear machine. Bonacci managed to stay out front most of the race. In the Pro-Lite class, Connor Barry was out front for the first half of the race. It was there, season points champions were crowned. Several classes saw tight points battles coming into the weekend. Door to door racing would determine those that came out on top.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Youth and Kart classes, Declan Shields earned a season championship in the RZR 170 class. Over in the Junior 2 Kart class, Mikey Childress stood high atop the podium excited to win his championship trophy. Luke Berry won the Junior 1 Kart championship over rival Chase Berry. Talan Martin beat out Cade Martin by five points to secure the Modified Kart Championship.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the best battles on track this season was in the Pro Buggy class. Series Champions were crowned over the weekend at the final Glen Helen race.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nSeven points separated Christopher Polvoorde and Madix Bailey. Bailey remained in a good position for most of the weekend. Sunday, Bailey would start out front and lead the field. He did everything he could to hold a charge from Polvoorde. In an instant, three laps into the race, Bailey rolled on his side in a turn. A full-course caution was brought out and the track crew righted Bailey, so he could continue on the lead lap. A lap later, heartbreak struck again as his race would end after contact with other trucks. Christopher Polvoorde went on to win the race and season championship.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the most hotly contested battles right to the finish would be in Pro Buggy. It was an all-out track fight between Trevor Briska and Trey Gibbs. Both would charge extremely hard every lap right up until the final turn coming off a jump side-by-side. Briska got crossed up with Gibbs and ended up driving over him to finish the race. Gibbs was shut down. In a turn of events, race officials penalized Briska for rough driving and the championship was awarded to Gibbs.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nHusband and wife team of Jason and Corry Weller finished together first and second in points in the SR1 UTV class racing a pair of Can Ams. Dave Mason Jr cruised to an easy finish and championship in his eBay Motors backed Pro-2. Connor Barry locked up a modified kart championship. Saturday, Christopher Polvoorde went door to door with \u201cMadman\u201d Madix Bailey. In the end, Polvoorde took the victory. The story was different during Sunday\u2019s Round 6. Jimmy Weitzel qualified on the pole. Madix Bailey started just next door. When the green flag dropped, Bailey rocketed out front. Christopher Polvoorde got collected with other trucks in the middle of the field. He would do everything he could to claw his way to the front. Weitzel regained the lead and stayed there the rest of the race. Polvoorde managed to finish second with Bailey third.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro2, Ricky Gutierrez was back on the west coast racing the GAS series.
