Barcia sustained the injury while racing Round 14 in East Rutherford.\r\n\r\n\"I\u2019m extremely disappointed. Things were finally starting to click \u2013 I was feeling comfortable and had just a few laps to go in the Main Event at MetLife Stadium when I had a weird little crash that seemed to come out of nowhere. I had done the same thing every lap, but it just snuck up on me and these things happen sometimes. Unfortunately, I banged up my knee and aggravated an old injury, so I\u2019ll need to take a couple of weeks off for therapy. The goal is to come back strong for the start of the motocross season. I\u2019m definitely bummed. I was finally finding my flow and putting it all together, and then that mistake happened. I\u2019m really going to miss my crew, the whole team, and all the fans, but I can\u2019t wait to get back on the bike, \u201csaid Barcia.\r\n\r\nBarcia is currently ranked seventh in the 450SX standings. Tomac jumped to the lead, but Anderson wasn\u2019t having any of it and regained the lead right back. A mistake in the whoops cost Tomac some time and allowed Anderson some breathing room. Anderson won the main event and Tomac settled in for second.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nAnaheim 3 was the final event for a while for the Western Regional 250 class. The class will take a much-needed break, allowing the Eastern Regional riders get their first gate starts next week. When the gate dropped, three riders were battling in the first corner. Christian Craig emerged in the lead with Hunter Lawrence and Vince Friese following behind. The battle between Craig and Lawrence continued. Just six minutes into the moto, Lawrence went down in the whoops section. Craig ran away with the lead. Michael Mosiman had made it second but also went down in the whoops. Mosiman remounted his bike but not before Friese made a pass for second. Mosiman held on for third.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nEli Tomac leads the 450 class standings and Christian Craig has a 28-point lead in the Western Regional 250 class. That is until Saturday night in Oakland. Anderson topped the podium aboard his Monster Energy Kawasaki. Adam Cianciarulo had the holeshot and early lead. Anderson moved past his teammate to take over without a challenge. Behind Anderson, Aaron Plessinger and Justin Barcia were battling for the second and third spots as Cianciarulo continued to drop back in the field. Also deeper in the field, Ken Roczen made a mistake and crashed into a berm in the whoops section. Roczen got back up but was only able to secure a thirteenth-place finish.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the 250 Regional West class, Christian Craig scored his second consecutive win of the season. Jo Shimoda had the holeshot but Craig was able to make his move to the lead when Shimoda stalled the bike.\u00a0 A couple of minutes later, Shimoda crashed in the whoops. The Qatari driver, racing for the Toyota Gazoo Racing Team, had a comfortable lead in the rally all week. His closest competitor, Sebastien Loeb finished second overall. Al-Attiyah received a five-minute penalty during stage eight for a seat belt infraction. Al-Attiyah also received a suspended disqualification after stage two for not having his data logger properly connected. The Toyota team quickly rectified the problem and Al-Attiyah was required to pay a fine. The penalties did not faze him as he pressed forward extending his lead over the final days.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nSam Sunderland is celebrating in the bike class as well. After lead changes, Sunderland made history for the GasGas team. This is the motorcycle company\u2019s first ever victory at the iconic event. Sunderland won the Dakar in 2017 and this marks his second victory. Sunderland took over the lead after the second stage and held it to stage six. Putting his head down, he continued to go to work with flawless riding days and consistent finishes, even with all of the pressure. 2020 champion Ricky Brabec finished second.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThis win feels better than the first as this victory was anything but easy. The times were so close this year and there was no time to let off the gas, it was a really close race, right to the end. All of the hard work, the sacrifices, and everything that the GASGAS team has done for me makes it all worthwhile. It\u2019s been five years since my first Dakar win, and it\u2019s been a long time to wait! I\u2019m super happy to get another win and claim the first one for GASGAS. Everyone on the team has worked so hard to achieve this and it\u2019s a true team effort \u2013 together we got the job done.
