Navigation in the sand was made difficult by the recent rains. Co-drivers had to be precise on their roadbooks.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6252\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DakarRally2023Stage5_QuinteroPodium-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nSeth Quintero kept the winning streak alive for the Americans in the T3 class, notching another podium for the Red Bull Junior Team. This is Quintero\u2019s first win this year and the tricky sand proved to be his specialty.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6254\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DakarRally2023Stage5_NasserAlAttiyah-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn the car class, all eyes were on Nasser Al Attiyah who brought home the days victory for Toyota Gazoo Racing. Carlos Sainz finished second. Four-hundred nine vehicles left scrutineering bound for Ha\u2019il in Northern Saudi Arabia. Action got started with prologue qualifying and stage one. An overnight rain gave way to an early morning mist. The Ha\u2019il terrain included stones, sandy tracks along with high mountain elevations.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4168\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/Daniel-Sanders_Stage1B-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/> <img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4169\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/PabloQuintanilla_Stage1B-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn the bike classification, GasGas factory racer Daniel Sanders claimed a stage win with Pablo Quintanilla finishing second on the Monster Energy Honda. Sainz is piloting an Audi RS Q e-Tron. His teammate Stephane Peterhansel already suffered damage to his electric vehicle, smashing the rear early in the stage. Peterhansel just may have lost his chance to win a Dakar title. The Frenchman has yet to call it quits.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-4174\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/SethQuintero_Stage1B-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nSeth Quintero scored a big stage win in the Light Prototype classification. Quintero is on the Red Bull Junior Team.
