Photo: Toyota Gazoo Racing.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nThe 2026 team includes returning stars Henk Lategan and Brett Cummings. The two secured second place in last year\u2019s Dakar Rally. Seth Quintero is a rising star in rally-raid and will pilot the No. 203 Hilux alongside his American navigator Andrew Short, a former motorcross rider. Quintero impressed in his rookie Dakar season, claiming a stage win and finishing in the top 10. Making his TGR W2RC debut is Toby Price, a two-time Dakar champion on bikes. Initially, the new Hilux will be fielded exclusively by the factory TGR W2RC squad. Through the majestic canyons and sandy tracks, competitors were faced with the challenge of navigating criss-crossing tracks and trying not to get confused. Finally, as the rains got heavier, the Stage was shortened to 234-miles.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6213\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DakarRally2023Stage3_DainielSanders-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\n2020 Champion Ricky Brabec had a bad crash and was airlifted to a local hospital. Brabec is complaining of neck pain. Meantime, Australian Red Bull GasGas factory rider Daniel Sanders claimed the Stage 3 win with Skyler Howes taking second. Sanders leads the points rankings.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-6214\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/DakarRally2023Stage3_GuerlainChicherit-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn the car class, Guerlain Chicherit came away with the stage win. Several drivers spent the day digging out after getting stuck in the sand. Of course, the torrential rains didn\u2019t help anyone. Hank Lategan finished second for Toyota Gazoo Racing.
