[{"id":5250,"permalink":"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/2022\/06\/21\/tomac-tops-podium-at-high-point\/","title":"Tomac Tops Podium at High Point","content":"The Lucas Oil Outdoor Pro Motocross series traveled east to High Point Raceway in Pennsylvania over the weekend. Eli Tomac was back atop the podium with the overall weekend victory.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the first 450 moto, Chase Sexton had the holeshot and early moto lead and carried that momentum all the way to the end. Eli Tomac finished in second place. In the second moto, Ryan Dungey secured the holeshot. He had pressure from several riders including Ken Roczen who made a pass for the lead. Sexton shot into the lead but made a mistake that allowed Roczen to reclaim the position. It wasn\u2019t long before Eli Tomac made his move to the lead. Tomac built himself a nice five second cushion that no rider was able to break. Tomac\u2019s win gave him the overall for the weekend.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the 250 class, Seth Hammaker was out front leading the first moto. Michael Mosiman moved into striking distance of Hammaker, eventually passing for the lead. Unfortunately, Mosiman went down in a rut which allowed Hunter Lawrence to claim the lead and the win. In the second moto, Hammaker again had the holeshot. His lead wouldn\u2019t last long as the rider went down allowing several riders to get past. That put Hunter Lawrence in the lead. Just behind, Hunter\u2019s brother Jett was battling to get the lead. Hunter bobbled, and Jett shot out front. The brothers would battle back and forth until Jett was able to open up a gap in lap traffic that allowed him to win the moto. This is the first race of the season on the east coast and third event of the summer tour.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nAdam Cianciarulo grabbed the 450 Moto 1 holeshot and was out front. As the moto got underway, Ken Roczen found himself briefly on the ground as did Chase Sexton. In what was a crazy race, Cianciarulo crashed into a lapped rider right before the finish. He regained his composure to take the win. Cianciarulo was back out with great speed in the second moto. Eli Tomac and Adam Cianciarulo battled for the lead as the moto got underway. Tomac cruised to a win. Cianciarulo settled for fourth. The consistency of Dylan Ferrandis\u2019 two second place podiums earned him the overall and points lead for the season stealing away Ken Roczen\u2019s hard earned red plate.\r\n\r\n\"\"\u00a0 \"\"\r\n\r\nIn the 250 Moto #1, RJ Hampshire had a solid lead, but Jett Lawrence was behind Hampshire making his way to the front. Suddenly, Hampshire\u2019s bike suffered mechanical issues, knocking him out of the race. When the dirt settled, Jalek Swoll took the Moto 1 win. In the second Moto, Colt Nichols was out front with the holeshot. Justin Cooper would take the lead away from Nichols. Cooper managed to hold off Jett Lawrence for the win.
