Newcomer Hunter Miller took his first ever KOH victory in a Can-Am Maverick X3 UTV. Miller has never raced a King of the Hammers event. Miller however is not new to the winner circle. \r\n\r\n\u201cIt\u2019s the absolute hardest race I\u2019ve ever done, and I\u2019ve been racing for 25 years now,\u201d Miller said at the finish line. \u201cI\u2019ve never experienced anything like this before.\u201d\r\n\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/KOH-UTV-RACE_2-2-2020_richardgiordano_desktoglory-9-300x200.jpg\")
\r\n\r\nHunter Miller started the race side-by-side with his brother Cody. The course started with 77 miles of desert terrain that included high-speed lakebeds and tight twisty ridgelines. The course then moved into the rocks. Obstacles included Outer Limits and Spooners. There were 143 total miles on the UTV course. Out of 131 starters, just 33 were able to finish one of the most difficult UTV events in the world.\r\n\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/KOH-UTV-RACE_2-2-2020_CAN-AM-KYLE-CHANEY2-300x200.jpg\")
\r\n\r\nOne of those finishers was Kyle Chaney who grabbed second place on the podium. His day was extremely difficult. Chaney rolled his Can-Am Maverick X3 on a steep hill. While rolling the vehicle back over, the Can-Am went backwards injuring Chaney\u2019s leg. Overcoming significant pain, Chaney continued on to finish the race.\r\n\r\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/KOH-UTV-RACE_2-2-2020_CAN-AM-PHE5043-200x300.jpg\")
\r\n\r\nThe UTV race at King of the Hammers kicks off a full week of events that include: qualifying shootouts, Every Man Challenge Race and a desert invitational for unlimited desert race trucks. The main King of the Hammers race will be held on Friday. The week ends on Saturday with the King of the Motos race and a closing awards ceremony.
