With just one final round to go, Tomac will not be lining up at the starting gate in Utah on Saturday. The points leader came off a jump and seriously injured his Achilles tendon at the race in Denver. Tomac went straight to the medical center at the track and later had his injury looked at by professionals.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nTomac was leading in the points and only had to finish 20th<\/sup> or better to lock up the Supercross Championship in the final round. Cooper Webb just a couple weeks ago also suffered an injury that ended his season. Now it\u2019s up to Chase Sexton to bring the championship home for his team.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cI am basically at a loss for words for what happened and how it happened,\u201d said Tomac in a video posted to social media. Riders went all out to win the crown title. With that came crashes that resulted in injuries.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nAustin Forkner\u2019s injury was probably the most significant of the weekend. Forkner collided with Jett Lawrence off a jump sending both riders to the ground. Same one from last year just broke around the plate and through a couple screws. I knew it was broken as soon as I got up. I\u2019ve just been dreading making the post about it, but I guess here it is. You know, I really was trying to make changes this year to my riding and my mentality to be ok with not being the fastest guy at every race or settling for a 3rd or a 5th at times so I would be at every race and make it to the end of the season. And if that left me with a championship then great, but if not then so be it. But that\u2019s why this sport is so damn tough because sometimes none of that matters and things just happen. Anyways, it is what it is. I do really appreciate all the support from everyone, it means a lot. I\u2019ll be back.\u201d\r\n\r\nRJ Hampshire was also injured at Arlington. Hampshire had a big crash with Phil Nicoletti during the second round of the 250SX race. Unlike Forkner, Hampshire is expected to line up on the gate in Daytona this weekend.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nBoth Star Racing Yamaha riders will sit out this weekend.
