The Navarro\u2019s were initially involved in a business partnership with Pierce that began last year.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Navarro family will carry on the history of Jimco Racing. Jimco was founded in the 1970\u2019s by Navy civilian engineer Jim Julson. Julson was building race cars full time and soon left his navy job. Jim was joined by his son Mike Julson. Mike ran the company after Jim\u2019s retirement in 1989. Mike semi-retired in 2016 and Robbie Pierce acquired the company in 2018. Pierce, born in 1959, got his start in the aerospace industry and soon began working with Mastercraft to build tubular seat frames. Pierce ended up purchasing the company and expanded it. Under Pierce\u2019s direction, Mastercraft purchased Ryan Safety, then Impact Racing. In 2017, Pierce sold everything to Sparco, and a year later purchased Jimco Racing, overseeing the builds of dozens of Trophy Trucks and UTV\u2019s.\r\n\r\nJimco Racing released the following statement: It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our great leader, racer, builder, entrepreneur, and Off-Road Motorsports Hall of Fame Inductee, Robbie Pierce. Robbie died in an accident while scuba diving, his second biggest passion in life. His dedication to the safety and advancement of off-road racing and motorsports will continue to save lives, and thrill racers and fans alike for years to come. What you do in life echoes in eternity. Drive fast, take chances.
