The event was held at the Southpoint Casino in Las Vegas. A silent auction to raise money for the organization as well as a walk of fame of off-road memorabilia was on display. Ken Block who also passed away got his honors at the ORMHOF ceremony. Mike Pearlman, the son of Ed Pearlman resurrected the wildly popular NORRA Rally in Baja. Jon Rettie has had images published all-around the world, photographing the most well known motorsports events. Rettie will also be inducted posthumously after passing away in June. The race started out with CJ Greaves leading the race. CJ would pull into the hot pits twice with truck issues. Eventually he ended up parking there and becoming a spectator. The carnage in the class continued as Kyle Chaney\u2019s truck caught fire. The safety crew was there in seconds to extinguish the flames. Jimmy Henderson went to battle during the race but broke after heavy contact with Johnny Greaves. Adrian Cenni looked like he would grab another win as he took the lead. A shredded rear tire would close that door, putting a Cenni a lap down after the hot pits. Johnny Greaves rolled causing body panels to fly everywhere. Andrew Carlson became the race leader but crashed after hitting a tractor tire in the infield. That put rookie Kainan Baker in the lead. Baker lost the lead and soon it was the battle of Johnny\u2019s. Johnny Holtger and Johnny Greaves would race to the finish. Johnny Greaves took the victory with Holtger coming in second and Cenni third. \u201cI wasn\u2019t going to let you win one before I won one,\u201d Greaves told Holtger at the podium.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro-2, Ryan Beat had all his ducks in a row. Beat was out front early in the race and dominated. Beat put several truck lengths on his fellow competitors to hold on for the win. Over in Pro-Lite, the race belonged to Trey Gibbs. In the Pro Side-by-Side class, Kainan Baker got passed by Kyle Chaney 100 yards from the finish line. Jeb Bootle secured a win in the Pro Stock side-by-side class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nWith just a Sprinter Van and a trailer, Lorenzo Bonacci and his dad made the trek to Wisconsin all the way from Southern California to race a pro-buggy in the Championship Off Road racing series. The track is well known for its elevation changes and sweeping turns. The track, almost a mile-long has plenty of technical racing.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nKyle Kleiman has had success at ERX in the past in his Pro-Lite. Finally, stepping up in the Pro-2 class, Kleiman secured a win at ERX in Round 5. He had an early lead, but not without plenty of pressure from Jerett Brooks. Kleiman managed to hold off Brooks for a win. In Round 6, Brooks was out front and fighting to keep his position. Ryan Beat eventually moved into the lead. Cory Winner sat quietly picking off drivers. He patiently waited for his opportunity, and with three laps to go, Winner struck. First getting around Ronnie Anderson who had managed to run second place. Then Winner chased down Beat crossing with just 6\/10ths of second for a victory.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nAnother successful racer at ERX is Kyle Greaves. Greaves has five career wins at ERX. When the green flag dropped he immediately shot into the lead going wire to wire for another victory. Round 6 was a much different story with Trey Gibbs starting off in the lead. About midway into the race, Johnny Holtger made an impressive move around both Gibbs and Brock Heger as they were fighting for the lead. Holtger did everything he could to hold off pressure from Gibbs. In the end Holtger won the race.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nJohnny Greaves was back on top in Friday\u2019s Round 5 Pro-4 race. With the sun setting and shadows cast on the track, drivers had their work cut out for them. When the green flag dropped, Andrew Carlson was in the lead. After all, ERX is his hometown track. His race shop is just yards from the track on the ERX property. Unfortunately, Carson spun out handing the lead over to CJ Greaves. Just a couple laps later, the younger Greaves would pull off the track with an electrical issue. Kyle Chaney moved to the front for the third lead change of the race. It wasn\u2019t long before Johnny Greaves made a pass for the lead. Hot on Greaves heels was Kyle Leduc who also made a move around Chaney. As the clock wound down, Leduc was unable to get to the lead and soon had to pit for a tire change. Greaves cruised to a win. In Round 6, Greaves put his Friday bad luck behind him, put his head down and worked his way to the front of the pack. Ahead of him was Kyle Leduc. In true Crandon, Wisconsin fashion, mother nature always has to make her presence known with a little rain. Once that cleared, it was time to get down to the business of racing.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nRJ Anderson is one of those successful racers who just shows up on the Crandon weekends Anderson secured a win during Saturday\u2019s Round 3 Pro-4 race. Just a little reminder to the fans that he is still around and very competitive. Another racer who has countless wins and many miles around Crandon International Raceway is Johnny Greaves. Greaves joined Anderson on the podium in second place with Jimmy Henderson rounding out third. Sunday was a much different story with CJ Greaves taking the win, Henderson moving up a spot to second and Cenni finishing third.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro-2, Crandon\u2019s land rush start afforded Keegan Kincaid the holeshot. As the laps ticked away, Cory Winner put a massive amount of pressure on Kincaid. With just a few laps to go, Winner made a door-to-door pass on Kincaid. Winner still had to fight off Jerett Brooks who by the end of the race had closed the gap on Winner\u2019s lead. Ryan Beat was also in the mix and managed a second-place finish with Brooks third. On Sunday, the battle was cemented between Mickey Thomas and Jerett Brooks. Thomas took the victory, Brooks finished second and Winner was back on the podium, this time in third.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOver in the Pro-Lite class, Kyle Greaves was out front with the holeshot and spent the rest of the race keeping the field behind him. He delivered on that status, following up his series championship win with a Crandon World Cup win. Mickey Thomas held off Kincaid to win the Pro2 Crandon Championship race. For his efforts he was awarded a large check and a brand-new Polaris RZR.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n \r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nWhen it was time for the Cup race in the afternoon, Kincaid was out front leading the field. He never looked back, leading wire to wire. Thousands of fans packed Crandon to watch their local hero win the 52nd<\/sup> Cup race. Johnny Greaves finished second but needed just a few more laps to catch Kincaid.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nGreaves was still victorious, winning the first race of the day which was the Pro-4 Crandon World Championship race. There were several scenarios that had to play out for some of the drivers to clinch the title.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro-2 class was the major one. Jerett Brooks had a seventeen-point lead over Corey Winner coming into Crandon. Brooks needed to finish 8th<\/sup> or better to clinch the title. Winner needed 9 spots, plus a finish no more than three spots behind Keegan Kincaid. Little did anyone know; a perfect storm was brewing. Kincaid was out front leading the field for several laps. Jerett Brooks was third, battling with Corey Winner. Then the unthinkable happened creating a perfect storm of scenarios. A power steering belt snapped shutting his race down. He stalled in blind corner causing several trucks to crash into him. When the race restarted, Kincaid continued to lead the race keeping Winner just out of reach of the podium. When the dust settled, Kincaid won the Championship by one point, Winner lost by 1 point and oddly enough, Brooks also lost by 1 point.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOver in Pro-4, Kyle Leduc would pull off the track early ending his hopes for a championship. CJ Greaves had the point lead coming into this weekend. He played it extremely safe staying out of trouble on the track while Johnny Greaves went full throttle for the lead and the race win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe ProLite championship was already decided before racing even began. Brock Heger locked clinched the series in Bark River. Heger\u2019s day continued to get better as he also clinched a Pro Stock side-by-side championship besting CJ Greaves. Cole Mamer secured his second win of the season at Crandon.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\u00a0 \"\"\r\n\r\nMichael Meister won the Superbuggy Championship. Andrew Carlson came into Crandon third winning the championship over the father son team of Rodney an Owen Van Eperen.","excerpt":"

Championship Off-Road had plans to run rounds seven and eight\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 at Dirt City Motorplex in Lena, Wisconsin over the weekend. By Saturday afternoon, mother nature had other plans. Series officials were forced to delay pro racing until the weather let up and the track dried out enough. While the side-by-side races and Pro-Lite races were able to make it to the track, the decision was made to move Pro-2 and Pro-4 racing to early Sunday morning making for a full day for many.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nRacing at Dirt City is always tight and technical. This marks the second year in a row Championship Off-Road has visited this venue. Some changes were made including adding new clay for better grip and a new table top on the front stretch.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nJohnny Greaves has struggled in the last several rounds to win in the Pro-4 class. He has however been consistently on the podium in either second or third. Greaves finally got his win this season in Round seven. The win finally marked Greaves\u2019 100th<\/sup> win in the class. Kyle Leduc was back out on top in Round eight. Andrew Carlson was out front when the race started. A rollover would shut down his hopes for a victory. Leduc cleanly moved through the field as the laps ticked away.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nRicky Gutierrez introduced a brand new Mittag-built truck this season. Gutierrez started out front in Round seven and never looked back, even with an extreme amount of pressure from both Cory Winner and Jerett Brooks. This is Ricky G\u2019s first career Pro-2 win. Later in the day, Ryan Beat took home his second career win in the Pro-2 class leading every lap of Round eight.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOfficials were able to get laps completed in the Pro-Lite class before Saturday\u2019s rain delay. Madix Bailey was out front until the restart. Cole Mamer took that spot away. A mechanical failure would cause smoke to pour out of his truck with just three turns to go. Brock Heger took advantage of the situation to claim his sixth win of the season. In Round eight, Dillon Pointon finally got his first victory in the Pro-Lite class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nEveryone is laser focused on points as there are only four rounds left in the season. CJ Greaves leads Kyle Leduc by five points. Surprisingly, with only two wins, Ryan Beat takes the lead in Pro-2 points. The race was originally set to be the opening round of the newly formed Championship Off Road Series. In a Crandon first, the Brush Run was held at night under the lights. Of course, things are never easy in Crandon especially in the fall. Officials dodged rain that would make the track a muddy mess.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro-Light race, John Holtger was out front early, but by the second lap, Zach Szymik had stolen the lead. Points leader Kyle Greaves had to be towed off the track with a tie rod issue. When the race restarted, Holtger was back to the lead. Szymik didn\u2019t waste any time stealing the right back. Szymik would get his second career win at Crandon with John Holtger finishing 2nd<\/sup> place.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nDuring the Pro-2 race, Mickey Thomas wasted no time making a pass for the lead. Ryan Beat and Kyle Kleiman made contact with each other in a battle for second just before the mandatory caution. Light rain began falling, making conditions even more slick on the track. Thomas went on to win the victory.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOfficials wasted no time starting the Pro-4 race as rain continued to fall on the track. Andrew Carlson grabbed the holeshot. Johnny Greaves made an early pass to take over the lead from Carlson. A couple of laps later there was plenty of door banging as CJ Greaves moved into second creating a Greaves vs. Greaves situation. Carlson wasn\u2019t having any of it and pushed his way back to second. CJ made it past Carlson as did Kyle Leduc.
