[{"id":3643,"permalink":"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/2021\/10\/19\/phil-blurton-wins-fourth-utv-world-championship\/","title":"Phil Blurton Wins Fourth UTV World Championship","content":"Phil Blurton has won his fourth UTV World Championship in the UTV Pro Turbo. The UTV World Championships were held in Lake Havasu over the weekend for the second year in a row. \u00a0Blurton won three back to back titles in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Blurton, driving a Can-AM and Piplic in a Polaris RZR, battled with each other during the entire race. Piplic won the UTV World Championship last year.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3646\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/UTV-World-Championship_Phil-Blurton-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\n\u201cWe decided this morning that we were going to set a good pace and see where we were at about halfway,\u201d Blurton said on the podium. \u201cThere were a couple guys on the first lap who were pushing at a crazy pace, and it sucks to let them leave you, but we knew what the car could take. Coming into the last lap (Ryan and I) were six seconds apart, I made a mistake and had to change a tire, and thought \u2018aw, man, second place,\u2019 but then we saw him break down.\u201d\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3647\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/UTV-World-Championship_Kaden-Wells-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nKaden Wells had a successful battle in the Naturally Aspirated class. Wells turned around and raced in the final event of the day taking second overall despite limited horsepower. The 9-mile course was set behind the Buffalo Bills and Primm Valley Resort Casinos. Racers had to run eight laps around the course.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3453\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/LegacyBattlegrounds2021_KadeWells-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nRacing got started early Saturday morning, just after daybreak. Jack Olliges was in a tight battle with Christian Strobel for the lead in the UTV Stock Class. With just one lap to go, Strobel ran out of fuel. Olliges took the win with Kaden Wells finishing second. Wells still won in his class- UTV Naturally Aspirated. Olliges also won the second day of racing earning the overall for the weekend. Ryan Piplic dominated the UTV Turbo Class.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3454\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/LegacyBattlegrounds2021_StrobelBattle-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/><img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3455\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/LegacyBattlegrounds2021_Olliges-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nThe 6100 class saw a stacked field of trucks. Travis Williams finished on top Day 1. On the second day, Brent Fox saw the podium. The overall class win went to Brent Fox. Connor McMullen was also in the same heat racing a 6200 buggy. He stayed out front of the entire field both days.\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-3458\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/LegacyBattlegrounds2021_BrentFox-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"640\" height=\"427\" \/>\r\n\r\nIn the Unlimited classes, Eric Hustead lead the field both days for the overall win. Brandon Bailey locked up the points championship in the Class 1 early.
