Their blistering pace made them the only team to break the five-hour mark for the weekend.\r\n\r\nKyle Chaney scored a hard-fought overall victory in the 2026 Silver State 300 Limited Race, edging a stacked UTV Pro field in one of the closest finishes of the American Off-Road Racing Championship season. Ronnie Anderson finished second, just 25 seconds behind Chaney after more than five hours of racing, while Corbin Leaverton completed the podium in third. Chaney is the newly crowned King after beating all of the big fire breathing Ultra4 cars in the rock sections in his CanAm Maverick side-by-side. The win is huge and historic as a UTV has never won the premiere class at the Hammers and Chaney has never won a King title.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_11987\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Kyle Chaney secured a historic win at the Race of Kings beating out all of the Ultra4 cars to victory in a CanAm UTV.[\/caption]\r\n\r\n\u201cWe had a good car last year, this year we put a lot of effort into this race. To come out here and win, it was awesome,\u201d said Chaney. Co-driver Terry Madden helped Chaney out on the rock trails. Both have extensive experience at the Hammers. Like Chaney, Madden has never gotten a win in the King of the Hammers premiere class. Chaney has multiple UTV Championship wins at the Hammers.\r\n\r\n[caption id=\"attachment_11983\" align=\"alignnone\" width=\"640\"]\"\" Paul Wolff passes Loren Healy in the rocks at Jackhammer.[\/caption]\r\n\r\nThe day was drama filled at the Race of Kings. Paul Wolff started out front after securing the top qualifying spot. Loren Healy quickly took command of the race in the desert loop but struggled when he got to Jack Hammer. Wolff re-took the lead as Healy went down with mechanical issues and was forced to withdraw. Former king JP Gomez found himself in the lead on lap 3 but was passed by Josh Blyler. JP then had to stop and get out to change a tire. Up ahead Blyler was down with mechanical issues. Both he and his co-driver were out of the car attempting repairs. As both of those drivers were stopped on course near Kings Vito, Chaney took over the lead and never looked back. The race started out with CJ Greaves leading the race. CJ would pull into the hot pits twice with truck issues. Eventually he ended up parking there and becoming a spectator. The carnage in the class continued as Kyle Chaney\u2019s truck caught fire. The safety crew was there in seconds to extinguish the flames. Jimmy Henderson went to battle during the race but broke after heavy contact with Johnny Greaves. Adrian Cenni looked like he would grab another win as he took the lead. A shredded rear tire would close that door, putting a Cenni a lap down after the hot pits. Johnny Greaves rolled causing body panels to fly everywhere. Andrew Carlson became the race leader but crashed after hitting a tractor tire in the infield. That put rookie Kainan Baker in the lead. Baker lost the lead and soon it was the battle of Johnny\u2019s. Johnny Holtger and Johnny Greaves would race to the finish. Johnny Greaves took the victory with Holtger coming in second and Cenni third. \u201cI wasn\u2019t going to let you win one before I won one,\u201d Greaves told Holtger at the podium.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro-2, Ryan Beat had all his ducks in a row. Beat was out front early in the race and dominated. Beat put several truck lengths on his fellow competitors to hold on for the win. Over in Pro-Lite, the race belonged to Trey Gibbs. In the Pro Side-by-Side class, Kainan Baker got passed by Kyle Chaney 100 yards from the finish line. JP passed as many cars as he could on the desert lap, avoiding a massive bottleneck of vehicles in Turkey Claw, the first obstacle on the course. He continued to pick off competitors before getting his own flat tire which took several minutes to change.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\u00a0\u00a0 \"\"\r\n\r\nUp front, JP\u2019s brother Raul Gomez, a two-time and defending King was battling out front. Raul flipped his vehicle on his lid on the last lap costing him valuable time, the lead and eventual win. Casey Currie moved to the lead but went down a broken driveshaft. Loren Healy also found himself in the lead before being forced to stop on the course with an issue. Soon, Kyle Chaney found himself ahead of all of the competitors and just miles from Hammertown with two rock obstacles left. Chaney blew a shock on his Can-Am Maverick UTV but continued to push through Resolution and Backdoor, taking the bypass. The tire continued to hold together but was ready to come apart at any minute as Chaney nursed his UTV across the finish line.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nBehind Chaney, JP was a man on a mission, making up critical time. Chaney, who was the top qualifier absolutely sent his Can-AM UTV at full speed down backdoor during the qualifying session. Chaney then started on the pole position rocketing out of Hammertown, mashing through the desert loop. Chaney continued to roll the dice by changing to a different tire compound for the rock sections. He almost lost his bet as he ended up getting a flat. The clock continued to tick as he and his co-driver Cash LeCroy struggled to get the tire changed. Fortunately, Chaney had built up enough of a gap from the rest of the field. The UTV class is one of the largest classes that raced all week. In addition to some of the most capable machines, the drivers are more talented at the Hammers than ever. There were 113 starters with only 46 finishing.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nWhen everything was said and done, Kyle Chaney took the win. He completed the 121-mile course in 3 hours, 47 minutes driving a Can-Am. This is Chaney\u2019s third attempt at King of the Hammers UTV event. Last year the UTV rolled on top of Chaney\u2019s foot dislocating it. Chaney got back in the car to finish the race in second before heading off to have his foot looked at. Chaney is also racing in the Hammers main event this Saturday. He is coming off a Desert Challenge win last weekend.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nCody Miller came in second. Miller\u2019s brother Hunter won the UTV event in 2020. Cody finished just 12 minutes behind Chaney. Phil Blurton rounded out the podium in third place.
