The tight, technical racing at Dirt City kept racers on their toes. With the halfway point over in the season, points were critical. No one knows that better than Kyle Leduc.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nLeduc finally saw two long-awaited wins this season in Pro 4. While Leduc has claimed spots on the podium this season, a win has eluded him until now. When the race got started, Leduc was outside of the top five. In the first lap, several trucks got collected in a crash. Leduc quickly moved into the top four. He sat patiently, moving around Adrian Cenni, then Scottie Lawrence right before the mandatory caution. This put him within striking distance of leader Cole Mamer. As the race restarted, Leduc jumped to the lead and stayed there for the victory. In Round 8, Leduc battled hard for his win. In the first turn, Leduc hit the wall sending him several spots back. CJ Greaves maintained the lead. On the second lap, Leduc once again hit the wall in the same spot, this time sitting on top of the concrete barrier. A caution would come out and Leduc was able to get himself back on the lead lap. Leduc then became a man on a mission, making immediate passes before catching up to CJ. Leduc made a pass on CJ after the leader went wide on a right turn. CJ would never be able to get his spot back. Leduc sits 31 points behind CJ Greaves in the standings.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro 2, Mickey Thomas sat quietly while the leaders took themselves out. Thomas moved to the lead with Jerett Brooks hot on his tail. Thomas was able to hold off Brooks for the win. Doug Mittag is another driver without a win this season. That all changed in Round 8. Mittag found himself battling most of the race with Ricky Gutierrez. After the mandatory caution, Mittag put his head down and went to work checking out and cruising to his first victory of the season. Jerett Brooks continues to the hold down the points lead.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nPro Lite continues to be an extremely competitive class and the racing at Dirt City did not disappoint. Kyle Greaves and Brock Heger started out front, side by side. It was Greaves who would grab the early lead. Behind Heger and Greaves was Trey Gibbs. Gibbs wasted no time getting past the leaders but lost positions after spinning out. Heger and Greaves were back at it. Heger finally took the lead. Greaves slowed a bit but held of Gibbs to finish second. After learning some lessons in Round 7, Gibbs sat quietly for most of the race. Towards the very end he struck, passing the leaders and claiming a win. The track is well known for its elevation changes and sweeping turns. The track, almost a mile-long has plenty of technical racing.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nKyle Kleiman has had success at ERX in the past in his Pro-Lite. Finally, stepping up in the Pro-2 class, Kleiman secured a win at ERX in Round 5. He had an early lead, but not without plenty of pressure from Jerett Brooks. Kleiman managed to hold off Brooks for a win. In Round 6, Brooks was out front and fighting to keep his position. Ryan Beat eventually moved into the lead. Cory Winner sat quietly picking off drivers. He patiently waited for his opportunity, and with three laps to go, Winner struck. First getting around Ronnie Anderson who had managed to run second place. Then Winner chased down Beat crossing with just 6\/10ths of second for a victory.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nAnother successful racer at ERX is Kyle Greaves. Greaves has five career wins at ERX. When the green flag dropped he immediately shot into the lead going wire to wire for another victory. Round 6 was a much different story with Trey Gibbs starting off in the lead. About midway into the race, Johnny Holtger made an impressive move around both Gibbs and Brock Heger as they were fighting for the lead. Holtger did everything he could to hold off pressure from Gibbs. In the end Holtger won the race.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nJohnny Greaves was back on top in Friday\u2019s Round 5 Pro-4 race. With the sun setting and shadows cast on the track, drivers had their work cut out for them. When the green flag dropped, Andrew Carlson was in the lead. After all, ERX is his hometown track. His race shop is just yards from the track on the ERX property. Unfortunately, Carson spun out handing the lead over to CJ Greaves. Just a couple laps later, the younger Greaves would pull off the track with an electrical issue. Kyle Chaney moved to the front for the third lead change of the race. It wasn\u2019t long before Johnny Greaves made a pass for the lead. Hot on Greaves heels was Kyle Leduc who also made a move around Chaney. As the clock wound down, Leduc was unable to get to the lead and soon had to pit for a tire change. Greaves cruised to a win. In Round 6, Greaves put his Friday bad luck behind him, put his head down and worked his way to the front of the pack. Ahead of him was Kyle Leduc. Originally set for May, the initial site the series planned to use forced them to move due to the Ukrainian conflict.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIsland X Prix 1 started out just as dramatic as it finished. The ABT CUPRA XE team took off with the lead first off the line with Nasser Al-Attiyah behind the wheel. Team Ganassi\u2019s Sara Price followed closely in the Hummer. Behind Price, Emma Gilmour\u2019s day ended in a crash in her NEOM McLaren Extreme E car. The team would not be able to recover. Upfront, Al-Attiyah was extending his lead. Lance Woolridge managed to claim the second spot after Price spun out. Then in another turn of events, Woolridge went the wrong way on the course. Al-Attiyah kept the chaos behind him, entering the switch zone 20 seconds ahead of the pack. As drivers switched for their second lap, Kyle Leduc made up time for Ganassi, coming in 10 seconds behind Al-Attiyah\u2019s teammate Jutta Kleinschmidt. In another turn of events, at the finish line, ABT CUPRA was penalized for switching to drive mode before the minimum driver switch time and been reached. This moved Ganassi into first place for their first ever Extreme E win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the second Island X Prix, Rosberg X Racing was back on top for their second win of the season. The key to their victory was a late overtake of the X44 team on the track. ABT CUPRA suffered another setback as they were disqualified for a safety infringement. The RXR team also scored maximum points for having the quickest combined time in the Continental Traction Challenge. RXR still stands high above the championship points with a total of 80. Championship Off-Road hosted the season opener at the Roaring Lions Raceway in Antigo, Wisconsin. After a long off-season, drivers were ready to hit the track and do what they do best\u00ad\u00ad\u00ad\u2013 side-by-side door banging!\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Round One Pro-2, Mickey Thomas and Jerett Brooks went door to door for several laps. In the end, Thomas took the victory with a hard-earned podium. Sunday\u2019s Round two race was just as exciting. This time however, it was Ricky Gutierrez who inserted himself in the mix. For Gutierrez, the gloves were off and fought a hard battle to gain the lead and bring home a much-awaited win.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Pro Lite class saw much of the same door to door battling each lap. Nineteen drivers took to the track. Brock Heger is the defending champion from last year he spent the first several laps chasing down Carson Parrish. After a yellow flag, Heger bucked down and it didn\u2019t take him long to find his groove out front holding off attacks in every corner. In Round two, rookie Connor Barry found his way to the front and lead some laps. Unfortunately, a couple of mistakes would erase his lead and when the dust settled, he finished shy of the podium. Brock Heger held on for the weekend sweep.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOver in Pro-4, the usual battle was between CJ Greaves and Kyle Leduc. As the laps ticked down, CJ had a comfortable lead earning the top spot on the podium with Adrian Cenni second and Leduc third. Sunday, Leduc did all he could to stay up front, but an issue would almost put him a lap down and send him to the back of the pack. A wild turn one crash by Adrian Cenni would send the field to a red flag. Leduc was able to get back into the mix. With a Green, White, Checker, Leduc went head to head making contact with Johnny Greaves. That contact caused Johnny to have tire damage resulting in a flat. Championship Off-Road had plans to run rounds seven and eight\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 at Dirt City Motorplex in Lena, Wisconsin over the weekend. By Saturday afternoon, mother nature had other plans. Series officials were forced to delay pro racing until the weather let up and the track dried out enough. While the side-by-side races and Pro-Lite races were able to make it to the track, the decision was made to move Pro-2 and Pro-4 racing to early Sunday morning making for a full day for many.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nRacing at Dirt City is always tight and technical. This marks the second year in a row Championship Off-Road has visited this venue. Some changes were made including adding new clay for better grip and a new table top on the front stretch.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nJohnny Greaves has struggled in the last several rounds to win in the Pro-4 class. He has however been consistently on the podium in either second or third. Greaves finally got his win this season in Round seven. The win finally marked Greaves\u2019 100th<\/sup> win in the class. Kyle Leduc was back out on top in Round eight. Andrew Carlson was out front when the race started. A rollover would shut down his hopes for a victory. Leduc cleanly moved through the field as the laps ticked away.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nRicky Gutierrez introduced a brand new Mittag-built truck this season. Gutierrez started out front in Round seven and never looked back, even with an extreme amount of pressure from both Cory Winner and Jerett Brooks. This is Ricky G\u2019s first career Pro-2 win. Later in the day, Ryan Beat took home his second career win in the Pro-2 class leading every lap of Round eight.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nOfficials were able to get laps completed in the Pro-Lite class before Saturday\u2019s rain delay. Madix Bailey was out front until the restart. Cole Mamer took that spot away. A mechanical failure would cause smoke to pour out of his truck with just three turns to go. Brock Heger took advantage of the situation to claim his sixth win of the season. In Round eight, Dillon Pointon finally got his first victory in the Pro-Lite class.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nEveryone is laser focused on points as there are only four rounds left in the season. CJ Greaves leads Kyle Leduc by five points. Surprisingly, with only two wins, Ryan Beat takes the lead in Pro-2 points. The series held rounds 5 & 6 at ERX. The property was originally built for snowmobiling until track owner Chris Carlson decided he wanted to also host short-course racing. Over the last few years, the track has been expanded with big jumps, sweeping turns and a split lane that adds to the racing excitement.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Round 5 Pro-2, Jerett Brooks started side-by-side with Mickey Thomas. As the laps continued, Ryan Beat began pressuring both drivers in an effort to get to the front. Beat moved in front of Thomas and started coming after Brooks. Unfortunately, Brooks\u2019 truck stalled out and Beat took over the lead. Thomas and Beat would continue to battle door to door, but on the last lap something happened to Ryan Beat\u2019s truck and Thomas took his first Championship Off Road victory. Trevor Leighton was out front when the green flag dropped in round 6 and never looked back going wire to wire. Kyle Kleiman finished second.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro-4 class for Round 5, RJ Anderson was out front, racing ERX for the first time. An over-rotation would open the door for CJ Greaves and Kyle Leduc to both make a pass for the lead. Anderson would later get tangled up with Johnny Greaves. Kyle Leduc ended up with the victory. CJ Greaves and RJ Anderson battled for the lead, back and forth. It wouldn\u2019t be long before Kyle Leduc inserted himself into the battle. Leduc would make a mistake and get counted right back out of the battle. When the dust settled Anderson bounced off k-rail allowing Greaves to keep forward momentum for the win. Kyle Leduc was able to get by Anderson for second.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nBrock Heger claimed in another Pro-Lite win in Round 5. Just a day later in Round 6, Heger wasn\u2019t so lucky.
