Minor began his off-road racing career in the sand dunes with a Jeep CJ-6 in the late 1950\u2019s. Minor, a Hemet, California native raced sand drag events in Glamis.\r\n\r\nIn 1967, Minor and Rod Hall won the inaugural NORRA Mexican 1000 in a stock 4-wheel drive jeep. Minor teamed up with Bill Stroppe in 1969 in a Bronco and won the race overall. Minor also raced vehicles in the NHRA series. Minor\u2019s Hemet-based shop built several 2-wheel drive tube frame Fiberglass Jeeps for racing in the dunes.\r\n\r\nMinor was inducted into the Offroad Motorsports Hall of Fame in 2005.","excerpt":"<p>Off-Road legend Larry Minor has passed away.
