The event was originally scheduled for March 20<sup>th<\/sup>. The series released a statement saying, \u201cwe have consulted experts from a variety of fields and believe under the current circumstances our decision is ultimately what is best.\u00a0We want to be clear that as of today we are not being forced to cancel this event by any involved authorities. However, with the uncertainty that exists surrounding the COVID-19 situation a last-minute mandated cancellation was probable.\u201d\r\n\r\nCalifornia\u2019s Governor Gavin Newsom has announced a temporary ban of gatherings with 250 or more people statewide. Dozens of events have been cancelled across the country due to the COVID-19 coronavirus spread.\r\n\r\nThe Stampede event was the first of three Western Regional events to be held this year.
