This marks Lofton\u2019s first win this season in the series. Kyle Jergensen finished second behind Lofton on day 1. Lofton had his truck dialed in qualifying P1 at Time Trials. BJ Baldwin finished physically first on the second day of racing.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe race featured a two-day format. Vehicles raced four laps on a 17-mile course that included the famous \u201croad crossing.\u201d The course features a high-speed straight section before it crosses over the pavement at Needles Highway. Usually by the time vehicles reach the pavement, they have enough speed to literally fly over the road. There were five heats each day. Winning times were combined into an overall finish from both days of racing.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nTwenty-five trucks were entered in the highly competitive 6100 class. Andrew Meyers took a Saturday victory over Dustin Grawbowski. Sunday was the same story with Meyers getting the overall. There are the usual favorites like the Parker 425, Vegas to Reno and Silver State 300. The Adelanto Grand Prix and Battle Born 200 are new additions to the schedule. Five points races will be held for trucks, cars and motorcycles while six races will be points paying for UTV\u2019s.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cWe are very excited about the 2022 schedule,\u201d commented Best in The Desert CMO, Bryan Folks. \u201cA lot of hard work and thought have gone into it. We\u2019ve worked hard to provide a wide variety of events to not only challenge our racers but also a schedule that considers racing budgets and costs. Racers battled muddy and wet conditions. At least one race vehicle was partially submerged after driving into a mini-lake on the course. In the afternoon, it was all sunny skies for the unlimited classes.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nJason Voss took the top spot on Saturday\u2019s podium in Trick Truck. Voss\u2019 victory was short lived after a tire change put him down a few spots on Sunday. Apdaly Lopez was on a mission, leading all of the laps in the Smiley Motorsports truck. At one point he had over a 1-minute lead on the field. Heartbreak struck just before the finish line as Apdaly\u2019s truck broke. Adam Householder moved into position to take the top spot on the podium just seconds ahead of Concrete Motorsports. The win gave Householder the overall trophy. Householder says he hasn\u2019t won in Laughlin in the unlimited class in years.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe day wasn\u2019t all bad for Jason Voss, as he picked up an overall in Class 8. Kyle Craft took an overall victory in 6100 driving a Brenthel built race truck. Other wins went to Garrett Allred in the 4700 class and Connor McMullen in Class 10. Racing under the night sky of Laughlin, UTV drivers had to make sure they had the perfect combination of lighting to see rough sections on the dark course. The night race kicked off a full weekend of events held in Laughlin.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nPerhaps the most exciting part of the night came right at the end of the unlimited race. Phil Blurton lead most of the race. On the last lap before the finish, Blurton sailed off the track crashing and breaking an a-arm. Unfortunately, that accident cost him the win and opened the door for 23-year old Mitch Guthrie to take the win in his Red Bull backed Polaris. Blurton would still manage to finish second.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nLarry Heidler took a win in the UTV Rally Class, while Kolton Hustead won the UTV Production Class.
