A statement released on <em>Facebook <\/em>by friend Lee Ramage reads the following:\r\n\r\n<img class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-767\" src=\"https:\/\/dirtsportsworld.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/Lee-Ramage-FB-Post-219x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"219\" height=\"300\" \/>\r\n\r\nMarty Smith rode for Honda and Suzuki in the 1970\u2019s. Smith won 3 AMA Championships. A 1978 crash at the Houston Supercross would leave Smith with a broken hip. He finished 3<sup>rd<\/sup> that year. Smith retired from professional racing in 1981.\r\n\r\nIn 1991, Smith teamed up with Larry Roeseler and Ted Hunnicut Jr to win the Baja 1000.
