Warm weekend temperatures made for some great racing and near perfect track conditions.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe Modified Kart race saw some great battles between the up and coming youth of the sport. Talan Martin battled with ten of his closest competitors to come out and sweep the weekend. Dane Culver took second on the podium in Saturday\u2019s round 2. Ashton Williams collected that spot in Sunday\u2019s round 3.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro Buggy, Matt Brister held the top podium spot during Round 2. Zach Drapkin finished second. In Round 3, Drapkin had all the power he needed to beat Brister taking over the top podium position. Johnny Holtger found the speed he needed with a battle in Pro-Lite, bringing home a Round 2 victory. Connor Barry fell short one spot finishing second. Barry wasn\u2019t done yet, in Sunday\u2019s Round 3, he answered back with a win swapping spots with Holtger. Kyle Knott came away with a pair of third place finishes.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe mini stock class consists of literally stock trucks that have been gutted and caged with minimal safety requirements including a fuel cell and window nets. Robert Orr figured how to stay out front both rounds for a weekend sweep. Defending class champion Anthony Csuzi struggled throughout the weekend but came away with a pair of second place finishes. It was there, season points champions were crowned. Several classes saw tight points battles coming into the weekend. Door to door racing would determine those that came out on top.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Youth and Kart classes, Declan Shields earned a season championship in the RZR 170 class. Over in the Junior 2 Kart class, Mikey Childress stood high atop the podium excited to win his championship trophy. Luke Berry won the Junior 1 Kart championship over rival Chase Berry. Talan Martin beat out Cade Martin by five points to secure the Modified Kart Championship.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the best battles on track this season was in the Pro Buggy class. Matt Brister and Zach Drapkin have neck and neck. Drapkin claimed his first championship in the class over Brister. Both fought hard this season for podium positions. Robby Hornsby took home final win of the season in Pro-Lite earning him the championship over Kyle Knott. The points battle was also tight in that class. The pits were full for two-days of racing.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nOne of the most competitive races both days was in the Pro Lite class. Saturday, Christopher Polvoorde went door to door with \u201cMadman\u201d Madix Bailey. In the end, Polvoorde took the victory. The story was different during Sunday\u2019s Round 6. Jimmy Weitzel qualified on the pole. Madix Bailey started just next door. When the green flag dropped, Bailey rocketed out front. Christopher Polvoorde got collected with other trucks in the middle of the field. He would do everything he could to claw his way to the front. Weitzel regained the lead and stayed there the rest of the race. Polvoorde managed to finish second with Bailey third.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn Pro2, Ricky Gutierrez was back on the west coast racing the GAS series. Both days he beat Dave Mason Jr for the top spot on the podium. Matt Brister was number one on the podium in Round 5. He wasn\u2019t so lucky in Round 6 after mechanical problems. The event was held without spectators. Strict COVID protocols were required for the series to host the event which included social distancing and mandatory face masks at the venue.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn ProBuggy, Elliot Watson swept the weekend winning all three rounds. Watson now has six consecutive wins under his belt. Matt Brister was out front but could not hold off the faster Watson. In both Round 6 and 7, Brister would have flat tire issues.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nBrock Heger won both rounds 6 & 7. Christopher Polvoorde was out front early in Round 6, but a broken throttle cable would sideline his efforts. In Round 7, Heger held off Cole Mamer for the win, but in Round 8, it was Mamer who finally took the victory.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nMyles Cheek consistently swept the weekend in Production UTV class.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nJerett Brooks took a Round 6 win leading the race wire to wire. After several postponements, cancellations and rescheduling of venues, the series hosted opening rounds at Glen Helen Raceway in Southern California. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, fans were not allowed to attend the event. The racing however, was still exciting.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nSaturday\u2019s Round 1 Pro Buggy race saw Matt Brister secure his first national podium. Darren Hardesty and Eliot Watson took second and third. Cameron Steele was also back behind the wheel in the buggy class mixing it up with the seasoned Pro Buggy stars. During Sunday\u2019s Round 2 Pro Buggy race, Trey Gibbs took top honors with Eliot Watson in second and Dale Ebberts in third.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the Pro-Lite class, Cole Mamer was the top the qualifier in Round 1. When the dust settled, Christopher Polovoorde took the top spot on the podium. Ronnie Anderson took second and Maddix Bailey third. Round 2, Cole Mamer finally made it to the top spot with Brock Heger in second and Madix Bailey back in the third spot.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nThe best battles of the weekend happened in the Pro-2 class. Jerett Brooks was the top qualifier in Saturday\u2019s Round 1. The inversion found Ricky Gutierrez on the front row. As the green flag dropped, there was plenty of the usual door banging. Jerett Brooks took the victory, Ricky Gutierrez held onto second holding off Brian Deegan who was hot on his heels in the last turn, all the way to the finish line. Round 2, the gloves came off. Much more contact between trucks. Ryan Beat led several laps before a flat tire would force him into the hot pits. Beat managed to stay on the lead lap, while several others would not be so lucky.
