Ricky Brabec continues to lead Ross Branch by 42 seconds. The days are quickly slipping away, and a champion will be crowned this coming weekend. Hearts are heavy in the bike class as Spanish rider Carles Falcon passed away after falling off his bike during stage two. Falcon was airlifted to a hospital in Riyadh and later transferred to Spain where he died.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nIn the car class, Nasser Al-Attiyah\u2019s engine stopped forcing him to retire from the stage 8. Al-Attiyah has struggled throughout the rally with mechanical issues. The stage winner of the day was Mattias Ekstrom for the Audi team. Carlos Sainz is still leading the overall standings.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nMitch Guthrie Jr. is still out front with the overall lead in the Challenger class with a solid second place finish today. The competing drivers in the ROC event were Johan Kristoffersson, Sebastien Loeb, Tanner Foust along with former Extreme E drivers Mattias Ekstrom and Jamie Chadwick.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe event is held on the frozen Baltic Sea only 60 miles from the Artic Circle. Former ABT Cupra XE driver Ekstrom defeated Mick Schumacher by two heats in the Grand Final. Ekstrom brought home his fourth individual ROC title.\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n\u201cThe Race of Champions has meant a lot to me in my career. It was a weekend bittersweet for the GasGas factory team. Sam Sunderland claimed a stage win while his teammate Daniel Sanders sustained a fractured elbow and wrist in a crash. Sanders has been forced to withdraw from the Rally. Sunderland currently has the overall bike lead.\r\n\r\n\"\" \"\" \"\"\r\n\r\nIn the car class, Sebastien Loeb beat Nassar Al-Attiyah to win Stage 7. Loeb has slowly been chipping away at Al-Attiyah\u2019s commanding lead. Loeb still has a way to go if he is to win the overall rally event.
