In the 250SMX Western Division Main Event, Max Anstie delivered one of the most memorable rides of his career. The veteran from England became the oldest winner in 250SMX history. Anstie is 32 years old. He raced smartly to the front and sprinted away from the field to claim the season\u2019s first 250 victory. Chance Hymas finished second and Ryder DiFrancesco third. Max Anstie had the lead and was running a nice comfortable gap. Late in the race a red flag came out. Per AMA rules, since more than three laps were completed, the riders were lined up for a staggered start when the race resumed. Levi Kitchen shot to the lead with just two laps to go. Kitchen held on for the win and Anstie stayed in second, unable to pass Kitchen. RJ Hampshire rounded out the podium in third. Kenny rode well in the first two races, and we were battling out there. I found my rhythm in the last couple of races, and everything just clicked. The energy from the Vancouver crowd was incredible, and I\u2019m looking forward to the next round in Perth,\u201d said Tomac. It was McElrath who would come out on top with the victory. \r\n\r\nNineteen points separated the top four riders in the WSX class. Joey Savtagy came into the weekend as the points leader. Roczen however showed he was the strongest rider all night going 1-1-3. \r\n\r\nIn the final SX2 event, Anstie dominated early leading the pack over the whoops section. Defending champion Shane McElrath continued to struggle this round when a tough block became lodged in his rear wheel causing him a DNF. That would erase any chances McElrath would have to locking in another WSX championship.
